With an enormous and seemingly impossible gap of 15 points to cover with just one quarter left, the Buffs were in a tough position. To make things worse, Atticus Sappington kicked a 22-yard field goal, adding 3 more points to the already 20 points. Now, all the Buffs had was another looming loss and 13:57 minutes on the clock. Amidst all the pressure, Travis Hunter channeled all the competitiveness he could to make a dramatic catch that everyone had jaws on the floor.

Sheduer Sanders passed a rather tough 22-yard catch to Hunter. One that he swiftly grabbed, throwing his body in the air, snatching the ball away from the hands of two defenders with 10:41 remaining, pushing the Buffs score to 12 against Beavers 23. Speaking of fighting till the last moment, Travis Hunter became an example of it in Colorado’d 8th November showdown against the Oregon State Beavers. Although the Buffs suffered a 26-19 loss at the end, the audience gave a standing ovation for their efforts. Now, it was time for media organizations to share their appreciation with the team. Fox News decided to do it slightly differently.

The reward for Hunter’s expensive catch was equally substantial. Fox College football has started a series of honoring the top 10 pivotal and gasp-inducing moments of the 2023 season, and Hunter’s swift catch against the two defenders of Beavers secured a spot on the list. Hence, the 9th best moment of CFB 2023 will be etched in history with Travis Hunter’s name.

Albeit the loss against Oregon will poke like a thorn to the whole team, Hunter will get all the recognition for his undying efforts. Along with Hunter, Anthony Hankerson and Alejandro Mata deserve special appreciation as they aided the team in raking in points, especially Hankerson who caught the 20-yard pass with just 1:42 left. Despite all of them, some moments etch themselves in football fans’ minds, Hunter’s catch was one of them. However, it was not the only milestone he unlocked this season.
