Colorado Buffaloes’ two-way phenomenon Travis Hunter is known for his swag in the gridiron. But not many know that Hunter’s best weapon is his fishing rod. He prefers to go out for fishing during his off time. It was during one such fishing expedition that the player passed a brutal jab on Deion Sanders.
He confidently flexed his talents while commenting on Coach Prime staying away from them as far as fishing is concerned. In the conversation, Hunter’s teammate Jeremiah Brown also pounced into action to bring out some water treasures while sharing a laugh at the Sanders’ joke.

Hunter makes it a point to share his fishing chronicles with his fans on his YouTube channel. The latest video shows, the two-way star all hyped up after having his hands on a big fish. As Hunter and Brown admire the beauty, little did fans expect the comment that followed. While Deion Sanders is their coach, his mastery is limited to the gridiron and all things related to the sport. As Hunter quipped, “Coach Prime wants no smoke with us”, it suggested how Hunter mockingly threw the Buffs HC an open challenge.

Confident in their skills and carefreely using fishing rods, the Buffs star by calling out on Sanders expressed his deep desire to spend some quality time with the coach being away from the sport. On multiple occasions, Sanders proved that he treats Hunter like his son Shedeur and holds Hunter on a high pedestal confident about him being the top pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Earlier, Hunter did get lucky enough to get featured on Deion Sanders’ Instagram.
Deion Sanders’ rising interest in fishing
While Hunter light-heartedly revealed Sanders’ reluctance to take part in a fishing feat with him, Coach Prime’s Instagram post implies otherwise. As the Buffs HC captured the CU star player catching fish live during the sunset. He ensured to post it with a funny caption read, “Really thinks he [Hunter] can beat me fishing. I’m trying to be a good host, but tomorrow, it’s on!”

Maybe Sanders too is taking things seriously garnering his interest from a fishing enthusiast member of his team, Hunter. The coach already has two water bodies named after him, Lake Prime and Lake Time. He recently announced that he is planning a new lake alongside the existing ones. Since Hunter is too dear to Sanders, he got the opportunity to try his hands in Lake Prime. Luckily, his efforts did not go in vain and his fish rod caught hold of a fish whose weight surpassed 10 pounds. An excited Coach Prime then made a complementary comment, “Caught a monster out of Lake Prime! Oh my God!”
After that, Deion Sanders too caught his first Crappie in Lake Time but Hunter was not present. As the Buffs HC is on the way to plan a new lake, will the third time prove to be lucky for a Deion-Travis fishing feat? Let your opinions pour in!
