Colorado University brought in Deion Sanders as the head coach with hopes of transforming their football program. As a result, CU improved on their performance in 2023 compared to 2022 with 4 wins, but it wasn’t enough. Coach Prime brought in his son Shedeur as the first-choice QB and Shilo to play as a safety, but the decision backfired as allegations of favoritism followed.

Though Coach Prime has received support from his sons and other players regarding the allegations, a recent gesture recorded on camera supports his case. Coach Prime embraces a young talent in the squad while speaking highly of his capabilities.

Charlie Offerdahl is an RB at CU, who was recently promoted. Born on June 8, 2002, to John and Cristee Offerdahl, he is majoring in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. Although Offerdahl didn’t receive many opportunities as a freshman or sophomorenow he is one of the best guys on the team, according to Coach Prime. “I’m proud of him…he’s a Dawg,” Coach Prime tells Charlie’s parents. It proves that Coach Prime has no ill intentions against his students and would value talent and skills over everything else.

If you’re good, you’re gonna play,” Shilo said on April 18 while addressing the allegations of favoritism against his father. He further added that CU is a place where equal opportunities await deserving talents, vehemently brushing aside the allegations. He later issued a warning to former CU players dissing Coach Prime, “They might get on Instagram or Twitter and say something, but it is not like you’re even doing anything, bro.

Shilo’s warning could be considered a hint towards McCaskill and McClain, who have left the CU program and took to social media to rant against Coach Prime. However, Shilo’s answer may have silenced Deion Sanders’ critics, as he says, “If you’re not playing here, that means you’re doing something like not listening to the coaches or something.” It was proven in the case of Cormani McClain, who was skipping meetings and training sessions.
