Coach Prime and his quarterback son Shedeur have always been a tight-knit duo, both at Jackson State and now at Colorado. With Shedeur Sanders set to enter the 2025 NFL draft, Deion’s future is now uncertain. While some are predicting Shedeur’s NFL future, others are speculating about Deion’s next move in 2025. However, the NFL isn’t in the cards for Coach Prime, as he previously stated, “Nah, I don’t want to coach in the NFL.” While some believe he’ll stay put in Colorado, rumors swirl about his potential departure.

Steve Rivera of The Wright Way Network throws a curveball into the mix, suggesting that we should “expect” Sanders to return to his home state, Florida, just like his former cornerback Cormani McClain, did. While this seems highly unlikely, it would create an awkward reunion between Sanders and McClain, who had a messy exit from Colorado.

Is Coach Prime moving from Boulder to the swamp?

Steve Rivera believes Deion Sanders may be headed back to his home state of Florida, potentially landing with an SEC team, particularly the Florida Gators. He envisions Sanders as the “superstar name with D-1 credentials to resurrect a fading dynasty in the Gators.” Rivera even claims, “The clock is ticking on Billy Napier and time is not on his side,” suggesting a coaching change may be imminent. While Sanders hasn’t publicly discussed leaving Colorado, Rivera confidently predicts, “With Deion Sanders prime to move on to bigger and better in a place that is already home, expect him in the Swamp come the 2025 season.”

If this were to happen, it would set the stage for a fascinating reunion between Deion and Cormani, the five-star CB who left Colorado for the Gators. McClain left the Buffs under a cloud, stating he didn’t want to “play for clicks” and sought a “real football program that’s going to develop players.” Given their ugly past, a potential reunion of these two could prove awkward, but definitely worth watching. However, it’s not guaranteed to happen, and here’s why.

Deion Sanders’ Florida Homecoming is less likely to become a reality

Coach Prime might be a proud Florida native, but is currently committed to his role as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. When asked about coaching in the NFL, he firmly stated, “I’ll be here. I ain’t going nowhere, I’m straight, I love Boulder, Colorado, and I cannot wait till they go into the NFL and do their thing.” Even if Sanders were to leave Colorado, joining the Florida Gators seems unlikely for a few reasons.

Even though Deion Sanders played for Florida State in the 80s, he doesn’t consider himself an alum, preferring to associate with Talladega College, his HBCU alma mater. However, he might still feel some loyalty to FSU, a longtime rival of the Florida Gators. This could make joining the Gators less appealing. Even if it’s considered a thing of the past, the current situation with Cormani McClain could make the joining even less likely. After McClain’s public criticism of Sanders’ coaching style, his presence on the Gators roster might further fuel Sanders’ hesitations. Despite these factors,  If Rivera’s  “expectation” became a reality, it would be nothing short of a miracle. What do you think of this hypothetical scenario? Let us know in the comments below.
