Life is either a daring adventure or nothing – something that Warren Sapp may be taking a bit too seriously. This offseason has been a whirlwind for Coach Prime and the Buffs. The team is grappling with a significant player exodus, and now Coach Sanders is dealing with the potential loss of a key staff member. His highest-paid graduate assistant, who plays a crucial role in the team’s operations, is frequently embarking on perilous wild hunting trips, a situation that has captured the head coach’s attention and raised concerns.
Earlier this year, the Buffaloes brought on legendary defensive tackle Warren Sapp as their quality control analyst who was reintroduced as a graduate assistant, allowing him to work directly with players. After careful vetting, he received the position and a hefty $150,000 salary. However, the costly GA’s lifelong love of hunting is now causing concern for Sanders.

Before his college days with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at Miami (FL), his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and even his recent role as a GA for the Colorado Buffaloes, Warren Sapp was a Florida kid passionate about hunting. Now, a year-old video of Sapp’s “crazy snake hunting hobby“ recently went viral, catching the eye of Deion Sanders. Sharing the video, Deion captioned it: “Will somebody tell @warrensapp we need him this season and we can’t risk a snakebite. As for me “AINT NO WAY! Snakes and Rats I don’t play with.”

The video showcases a camouflaged Sapp skillfully capturing a massive python, his face beaming excitedly. Sapp’s response to Deion’s concerns was nonchalant, as he had an off of his own, asking the coach for a joint expedition in the comments with “We Going Today!! 😍.” While the video is not recent, it serves as a reminder of Sapp’s daring side, a stark contrast to his role as a graduate assistant with the Buffaloes.
Will tackling pythons take a break while tackling the Buffaloes?

Last year, Warren Sapp traded the football field for the Florida Everglades. He teamed up with the famous Python Cowboy, hunting invasive pythons — maybe even competing in the Python Challenge in the wetland for a massive $10,000 prize. The full adventure, including catching two enormous snakes, was shared on the Python Cowboy’s YouTube channel and is making waves again.
This wasn’t Sapp’s first wild rodeo. Last spring, he joined the Python Cowboy to hunt invasive iguanas in Florida’s canals. They even tackled monster boar hogs, catching three in the wild. Now, in Boulder, Colorado, Sapp’s wild expeditions are on hold — at least under Coach Prime’s watch. Now, the most adventurous thing he’ll likely do is join the Sanders crew for some bass fishing. What do you think? Will Coach Prime loosen the reins, or is Sapp’s hunting career on pause? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
