“I have been loving and coaching kids”Coach Prime posted a while ago with a picture of him training and interacting with kids. Deion Sanders’ passion for football is well-known around the world. As a former cornerback/wide receiver who gained worldwide fame while playing for the Cowboys and now coaching in college football, Deion Sanders, at 58, still thrives through his favorite sport.

However, his coaching doesn’t just stop at transforming college athletes into pro-level players; it goes beyond that. In recognition of this, Coach Prime and Colorado have taken a groundbreaking initiative that could become a prominent feature of every NCAA college football program.

In addition to preparing for the 2024 NCAA season, Colorado is reportedly launching a new initiative to set a trend in college football— the Youth Football Camp! On June 11th, the Colorado Buffaloes football page posted an Instagram story where a coaching staff member teased this exciting new initiative for 2024. With a backdrop of school kids in Colorado Buffaloes’ grey t-shirts, the staff member declared, “We’re getting ready to kick off our 2024 youth football camp and you can see how excited they are.”

Coach Primе’s time with the Pее Wее football

Before stepping into the college football scene with Jackson State and Colorado, Coach Prime coached at his Prime Prep Academy and nonprofit Truth Football, where he trained a group of football players aged 9 to 12. On that note, Deion Sanders once shared a heartwarming throwback image on Instagram from his Truth Football coaching days, surrounded by young players on the field. “. Many thought I had just started being COACHPRIME!” wrote Coach Prime in the caption of the post, “You better ask somebody. If I Coached you or your son played against us let them know we’ve been about these kids for a long time.” Notably, his coaching journey with Truth Football began in 2011 in partnership with his then-wife, Pilar Sanders. According to their website, Truth’s mission was to serve communities “by reaching and teaching our youth through sports and education.”

At Truth Football, Coach Prime worked with kids from underprivileged backgrounds in Pee Wee football at his nonprofit and then joined various Texas schools, including his prep school, Prime Prep, as a football coach from 2012 to 2020. That was the year he took up the job with the JSU Tigers, making a grand entry into the college football world with CU.

Therefore, years later, such a move by Deion Sanders at Colorado, is a significant step in building a unique narrative in college football overall.
