Amid the crisis of players jumping ship from Colorado, Deion’s perspective might just end up swaying doubts out of the Buffs’ fans. Ever since losing valuable players like Dylan Edwards, Cormani McClain, and Xavier Smith from the team, there’s been a lot of eyebrows being raised over Coach Prime’s competence, but it looks like he’s prepared for the upcoming season.

Deion Sanders, the HC for the Colorado Buffaloes, lost a lot of his credibility when he witnessed an exodus among his team’s roster. During the 2022 season, Colorado had over 83 players who came to Boulder on scholarships and by April of this year, they were only left with 20 in the roster. Things seem to be falling apart, but according to Coach Prime, he is prepared well for the season with new players coming in to restructure the roster.

On the 13th May episode of ‘Thee Pregame Show’, the hosts were seen discussing the future of the Colorado buffaloes since the transfer portal hasn’t been too kind to Coach Prime’s team. Later, they reacted to a video of Deion reassuring the fans that the team is doing well despite the departure of players like Cormani McClain and Xavier Smith.

Deion invoked the names of BJ Green, Carter Stroutmire, and others in an attempt to give an insight into the Buff’s game plan. He said, ” I love what we have in our offensive line. We have several safeties, remember Carter Stoutmire comes back. He’s healthy, don’t forget about him because he can flat-out play and he’ll probably transition to safety, which gives us a corner-like guy at the safety position.”

He went on to explain that he has players he’s trained since they were kids joining the roster as well, adding, “We got Hood last week from Auburn which is another starting corner. Don’t forget BJ Green is coming, who played for me when he was six years old, seven years old. So, I love the depth. I think we’re going to sign another linebacker for sure before we get to camp and maybe one more or two more defensive tackles just to give us the depth that we need.”

Even though Deion has been facing a lot of turmoil regarding his reputation and the team itself, it looks like he’s not too worried about the Buffs’ future and will take the challenge of the NCAA as the headstrong coach he is. With all that said, here’s what Deion Sanders had to say about McClain’s career and the well wishes that he has for him.

Deion Sanders speaks up on McClain’s future

The past few weeks were quite tumultuous for Deion and the Buffaloes since their reputation on social media was getting dragged through the mud every day. Ever since McClain came out with his story of departure from Colorado, Shedeur’s attacks reflected poorly on the QB and also on Deion for letting his son speak harshly about the former recruit.

Deion has seen his fair share of consequences concerning McClain, but spoke about how he wishes nothing but success for the young 5-star prospect, adding “I want the best for [McClain], man. I really do. I want that kid to soar. I want him to man up. I want him to be the best possible athlete and human being and person that he could possibly be. I don’t dislike any of the kids that may leave, man, because I just want the best of them.”

Thus, now that the dust has settled and the next season draws closer, hopefully, all parties involved can move on and have tunnel vision for the betterment of college football.
