Deion Sanders’ hereditary is unmistakable. He has passed down the best of his qualities to his kids, who are shining brightly as they deal with their world. Shelomi Sanders is one of the proud possessors of these Sanders values. The dad-daughter duo oftentimes steals the hearts of their fans through their banter. However, when this duo joins hands, they become the ultimate cheerleaders anyone would ever need, something that they did as their bit in bidding Shelomi’s teammate a memorable farewell.

The CU Buffs women’s basketball team survived 2 losses as underclassmen Brianna McLeod and Mikayla Johnson declared about them hitting the NCAA transfer portal. Almost as a parting note, jersey #23, Mikayla Johnson shared a heartfelt post on Instagram expressing her gratitude while saying goodbye to Colorado. “I want to thank Colorado for everything and I’m thankful for my time spent at the university. After much thought and consideration, I have decided to enter the transfer portal and find a home for the next three years of my college eligibility,” Mikayla Johnson wrote in her transfer portal announcement post.

As soon as they saw the post, Deion Sanders and his daughter Shelomi Sanders rushed to Instagram, since they couldn’t stop themselves from being her biggest cheerleaders. “Your story,” Sheomi Sanders commented, while Deion Sanders garnered even more attention with his sweet, “I’m proud of you and can’t wait to see you play,” comment. Johnson was also from the class of 2023 with Shelomi Sanders, which might also be the reason behind the special bond that Sanders and Johnson shared. Even though she is set to leave CU, Johnson surely left her imprint in Colorado.

Mikayla Johnson stats

Mikayla Johnson joined the Buffs mid-way through the 2022-23 season and made her grand college debut in November with the Buffs as a guard. The Anchorage, Alaska native, played 15 games in the previous season and averaged 1.9 points. The 6-foot-1 guard hardly got the chance to play during the game-deciding moments of the past season.
