On the June 22nd episode of The Whistle Podcast, CU LB coach Andre Hart and Coach Pollock shared some exciting plans for the Buffaloes as laid out by Coach Prime himself. One highlight was awarding scholarships to two of the Buffaloes’ rising stars. “We’ve had a couple of— I can’t mention names because of NCAA rules— but we’ve had a couple of guys come to camp this year that have earned some offers from us,” informed Coach Pollock to the viewers. “They got caught the head man’s eye.”
These privileges came to Colorado thanks to Deion Sanders’ “businessman” mindset as a head coach and his partnership with 5430 Alliance, aimed at attracting recruits through a strong NIL package. On that note, Coach Pollock further added that Coach Prime and CU have no issues in paying for those players who are financially not well off. However, all they need to do in return is deliver the goods—a good season on the field. “You can’t just work when you’re at camp and you know and you got to prepare to come to camp. That’s what a lot of kids forget to do,” added Coach Pollock. Speaking of training camps, Coach Hart revealed that the Buffaloes’ defense is looking a lot more physical lately!

Colorado’s dеfеnsivе improvеmеnts
When Coach Pollock asked Coach Hart for an update on the defense, Hart mentioned that the secondary players were having a “hell of a lot more fights than before,” which, according to Hart, means the defense players are holding each other more accountable now. This is great news for the Buffaloes, especially after the Spring Game analysis where the offense won over the defense with a 29-24 score.

Although the revamped roster has made the offense look much better during practice camp, Deion Sanders and his team knew the defense needed more of their attention. Therefore, as showcased in the Well Off Media videos, Coach Prime, along with defensive coordinator Robert Livingston, commenced a lot of 1-on-1 sessions during practice, which led to more heated encounters on the field. However, as Coach Hart sees it, this intensity is a “part of football,” and the determination the boys are showing on the practice field is looking much more promising now.
As the Buffaloes gear up for the upcoming season with such good NIL opportunities and a strategized practice routine, the future of the Colorado Buffaloes is already looking bright, both on and off the field.
