Coach Prime has been lately living “rent-free” in the minds of critics, seemingly blamed for everything from football transfers to hip-hop feuds. While concerns about players leaving his team are understandable, some have dragged him into a bizarre battle between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s diss track battle has been raging for weeks. They’ve traded four blows, attacking one another’s careers and private lives. It escalated with Kendrick’s Euphoria and Drake’s Push Ups, followed by 6:16 in LA and Lamar’s Meet the Grahams. Drake fired back with Taylor Made and Family Matters. Now, Kendrick’s latest Not Like Us has a response from Drake, as expected. However, their feud unexpectedly dragged Deion Sanders into the conflict, even though the coach recently called for peace.

Drake’s been struggling to keep up with Kendrick Lamar’s lyrical attacks, especially after Lamar’s “Not Like Us dropped on May 4. Drake responded on May 5 with The Heart Part 6, referencing Lamar’s track series title, upping the stakes. Fans quickly dismissed the accusation as baseless, with one commenting, “I told you Deion Sanders and Drake fans will believe anything they say bro like seriously!! We fed him fake info.”

This caught the attention of Deion Sanders Jr., who posted the comment on his Well Off Forever page with the caption, “What does Coach Prime have to do with any of this? and laughing emojis. It seems the Sanders family is handling this episode with a touch of humor, as Deion Sanders himself commented, “Lolololol Man I ain’t got nothing to do with that.  Some fans even defended the coach, reminding everyone that he recently preached “peace, not war.

Coach Prime’s call for peace can’t stop the drama

Coach Prime went from rapping “Prime Time in the 1990s to preaching faith. He’s definitely against lyrical battles these days. Amidst the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar feud, he took to Instagram on May 4, urging everyone to “choose peace instead of war.  His message said, “Win the battle of life and not the provoked battle with another man or woman. Even though his message was clear, someone commented, “So who winning UNC? Drake or Kendrick Lamar, and Coach Prime simply replied with one word — JESUS.”

Despite his call for peace, Sanders is dragged into the unrelated online drama hours later. It seems nothing can keep him out of the headlines. Even if Drake and Kendrick miraculously stop their feud, the internet will probably find a new drama for Coach Prime.
