If Boulder becomes the new home of Juju Lewis, it will be the start of Coach Prime’s beginning of Eunice. This is the mindset that Deion is leading with, in the recruitment of 5-star QB Julian Lewis and as far as Uncle Neely is considered, Coach Prime thinks nothing but the upscale the Colorado roster by bringing in more and more talents.

Julian Lewis is rated to be the best quarterback for the 2025 class and as such, is on the hunt by most of the elite NCAA teams like the Georgia Bulldogs, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the USC Trojans. Additionally, Lewis had over 35 college football offers by February 2023. Now, the only 3 teams that are the leading contenders for Lewis, are USC, Colorado, and Auburn. And as per Neely, Deion won’t stop at any lengths to ensure that the recruitment process is always in motion.

On the 5th July episode of the DNVR Pregame show, RK and Jake invited Coach Prime’s right-hand man, Uncle Neely as a guest to talk about his thoughts on Julian Lewis’ recruitment and how Deion plans to develop the program even after Shedeur leaves. Later, Jake himself complimented the status of Colorado in the race to acquire Julian Lewis, which seems to be at the head of the table so far.

Neely was heard talking about Coach Prime’s future and how he’s dealing with active recruitment. He said, “Coach Prime ain’t going nowhere. He is out there, actively recruiting further down the road, if you out there thinking he’s leaving after Shedeur leaves or something.”

Later, Lewis praised Colorado’s position in the race for Lewis and how they’re a part of every conversation about the QB’s future and added, “Scott Proctor said it was a two-horse race between Colorado and USC. I saw another national recruiting analyst call it a two-horse race between Colorado and USC with Auburn falling out a little bit and so there’s been a two-horse race, three-horse race but you know who’s in every single race? Colorado. No matter who you think is part of it, no one has said they don’t think Colorado is a part of it and I find that really interesting.

With Deion’s future secure in Boulder and Lewis possibly shifting his sights from USC to Colorado, can only mean great news for the program which is set to witness a growth unlike no other. Moreover, while we all know why Lewis would be a valuable addition to the Buffaloes, here’s what the youngster had to say about Deion Sanders and the Boulder program.

The Buffs’ will be banking on the likes of Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter to finally take the crown of the Big-12 this year, but if we’re to look at the team’s future next year, Deion will need to bring in QBs like Lewis to the team since most of his star players will be leaving for the NFL. But since Lewis is already committed to the USC Trojans, it will be difficult for Coach Prime to flip his decision and join the roster, and yet, Lewis’ opinion of the Colorado staff does seem to be high.

As per Lewis, coach Pat Shurmur and Deion are more than just recruiters, rather, they are sheer professionals, with genuine advice to offer. Juju said, “Coach Prime isn’t the kind of person to tell you what you want to hear. Coach Pat (Shurmur) isn’t a recruiter, either. He comes from the NFL, so that’s probably the biggest difference.” Thus, it all does seem a bit promising for Colorado but unless Lewis announces his decommitment from USC, the team can hold no hopes and dream not to dream.
