Lane Kiffin's proud dad moment—Is this the softer side of the tough coach we rarely see?

Ole Miss might or might not make it big this season, but Lane Kiffin already has. And it is not just as a head coach. Kiffin is a complete package, a head coach, an internet sensation, a fan favorite, and above all, a proud dad. Honoring that bond between him and his son, Kiffin shared a special tweet for sweetly admiring his son.

“My hero,” Kiffin shared, posting baby pictures of his son Knox Kiffin. Reminiscing the good ol’ days, Kiffin shared a picture of a toddler Knox in a Vikings t-shirt, and another one with Knox and his father riding a horse. The pictures of his son sure took Coach Kiffin down memory lane, especially now that he’s looking at his son grow up! It was just in January 2009 that Kiffin and his ex-wife welcomed their youngest child, Knox. Now the 15-year-old is already in the talks in CFB and has already caught the eye of several universities despite being a 10th-grader at Palos Verdes High School, California.

‘2028 QB’ is a title often given to Knox, the budding QB, since he is set to make his CFB debut in 2028. Even though his debut has quite some years to go, Knox is already getting offers from several universities, which frankly, is an accolade in itself. Thanks to all the coaching hours his father, Lane Kiffin, has invested in him, Knox is taking center stage in some universities as they are already extending offers for the 2028 season.

All of our best bets are on the university eager to get Knox on board being Ole Miss. Lane Kiffin’s the head coach, the dots smoothly connect. Well, it’s not. At least not the first one to extend an offer to Knox yet. Three other colleges, on the other hand, have already made a move!

Lane Kiffin’s son is already a hot recruit.

The recruitment for the 2028 season has started and given the cutting-edge competition in the CFB, any university is not keen on losing out good prospects. They are beginning their hunt now! (Even if that season is after 4 years). Knox is one of the early talents to get recognized in this competition.

Have an interesting take?

Division II school Mississippi was the first one to extend an offer to Knox Kiffin. SMU Mustangs and Arkansas State Red Wolves have followed suit, offering Knox a position as a 2028 class QB. Amid all this, if there is one thing that has left the crowds contemplating, it’s Lane Kiffin not offering his son a position at Ole Miss.

The most bewildering part of it all? Papa Kiffin is still not convinced about recruiting his son to the Rebels. “We have kind of a higher standard for the quarterbacks we take. We’ll keep him hungry.” Lane Kiffin said, per The Clarion Ledger. Although it might be a notorious joke on Kiffin’s part, he will need to consider getting his son on board at Ole Miss (if he wants his son on his team) or else the competitors might sweep him off his feet.
