Even though Colorado failed to impress or walk away with a win, Deion Sanders gave the NFL fans a reason to celebrate. The Colorado Head coach attracts oodles of attention and that comes as no surprise. Surprisingly enough, the two-sport legend is as popular among the young folks as he is with the football fans. His popularity reached new heights when his name made it to one of the oldest and most prestigious records of all time- the Guinness World Record.

Sanders had joined forces with UCHealth to organize and host a free family-friendly football clinic for kids between the ages of 7 and 10. The former head coach of Jackson University has been involved in many such football coaching programs and interactive activities in the past, but what was so special about this lesson that landed him a world record?

A day after the Buffaloes fell to the mighty Oregon State, Coach Prime, aided by the UCHealth team, put together a fun football session with the Boulder families to alter the tone of despair. A record-breaking 283 participants flocked to the football lesson headed by UCHealth’s new “Chief Motivation Officer,” earning a place on the Guinness World Record. The youth session had 32 more members than the previous record-holder, hence becoming the “largest American football lesson.”

“Coach Prime” is now serving as the “Chief Motivation Officer” at UCHealth while also leading the University of Colorado Buffaloes football team. He has been actively promoting the Ready. Set. CO challenge to inspire Coloradans to enhance their health, aiming to restore Colorado’s status as the nation’s healthiest state. Coach Prime addressed the celebratory news during a press meet, where he detailed the importance of the ‘secret sauce’ aka love that is required to bring families together. He suggested that family is the only source of support one has when the world “turns its back” on us. He also acknowledged that out of all the sessions that he had preceded, this one was extra special since he could see the excitement and the happiness and the pure joy on the faces of the kids was unbelievable.” Prime Time might have won a world record. His team, however, failed to win hearts on Saturday’s match against Oregon State

Colorado blooms a tad bit too late

Deion Sanders’ last-minute coaching adjustments failed to secure a victory. Despite their strong 3-0 start to the season, Sanders’ team experienced a series of disappointing losses that marred their early success. In an effort to reinvigorate the team, Sanders implemented some last-minute changes, promoting former head coach of the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns, Pat Shurmur, to take over play-calling duties for the Saturday game. Unfortunately, the Buffs couldn’t deliver and had to settle for a disheartening 26-19 loss to Oregon State.

Pat Shurmur was given the task of improving Sanders’ protection and revitalizing the running game. Better protection and Shurmur’s play-calling could have created a safer environment for Sanders to make throws without the risk of injury. Colorado’s offense faced challenges in the first three quarters, earning just 78 yards and three points. However, a late fourth-quarter resurgence resulted in 160 yards and two touchdowns. Regrettably, this comeback came a tad bit too late, ultimately resulting in a 26-19 loss to Oregon State.
