Leading up to the much-anticipated 2024 NFL Draft, Coach Prime recently shared his candid opinions on the potential top players of this year. With Caleb Williams on track for the first pick, Deion Sanders voiced his concerns, seemingly worried about his future trajectory. Significantly, the Buffs’ head coach pointed out one big adversary that lay ahead, the chilling Chicago temperatures!

While Coach Prime labeled these conditions as problematic, he also explained the NFL drafting scenario for his son, QB Shedeur Sanders. During a media exchange this week, Deion suggested the chances of his son attempting the draft in the future, unwilling to confirm any shifts for now. As the Chicago Bears traded Justin Fields on Saturday, the possibilities for Caleb’s drafting became far more clear-cut. Appreciating his prowess, Coach Prime mentioned, “I think he’s the best one on the board this year for sure”, although he seemed doubtful about the transition.

“A kid that’s coming from California for the last couple years, right? And went to Oklahoma. That’s not terribly cold”, the coach added, claiming, “Chicago’s cold, man.” Acknowledging the impacts of these surroundings, Coach Prime further questioned, “When you take a guy from Ohio State and you bring him to Chicago, okay, I could understand that. But from California to Chicago?”

Speaking on the added NFL games counting at seventeen, Coach Prime also shared his insights on Shedeur’s upcoming plans. In a firm take, he expressed, “I don’t want my kid going nowhere cold next year.” Additionally, the Colorado head coach exhibited similar thoughts for every cold-weathered city.

Reluctant about his son playing under such conditions when he enters the draft, Coach Prime clarified, “He grew up in Texas. He played in Jackson, played in Colorado. Season’s over before it gets cold in Colorado.” A concerned father aside from his on-field presence, Coach Prime admitted, “I’m just thinking way ahead. I don’t want that for him.”

With Shedeur earning the potential for a first-round pick in the future, Caleb Williams has already been a top-notch candidate this year. Hailed as one of the best QB players, the Bears’ shift from Justin might have paved Caleb’s path into the Chicago camp. With the odds of his selection as No. 1 rising drastically, the numbers have elevated from -1600 to -2000 in recent times.

Subsequently, the trade became a catalyst, making the odds as high as -4000. Appearing confident in Chicago’s franchise, the Washington D.C. native stated, “I want to go to a place that wants to win.” Contrasting to the worries of Coach Prime, Williams had prior experience dealing with colder weather, studying at Gonzaga College High School.
