The final bell has rang and the first-round pick of the 2024 NFL Draft is done. And as expected the Chicago Bears have been successful in materializing their plans in getting a ‘surgeon’ to their roster this time. As promised, the Bears landed the USC Trojans’ giant, Caleb Williams at #1. Though this had been expected for a while, on getting his name announced, the quarterback was spotted with twinkling eyes.
Caleb Williams was crying tears of joy because his wait was finally over. It has been an honor for Williams to share this moment with his family and girlfriend which got him have a tussle with his emotions.

This year’s draft marks to be very special for the Bears as they hold the first-round pick since 2019 and are already head over heels for the prince of Trojans. The event saw Williams engaged in his phone, slightly tensed sharing the seat in the audience with his family and girlfriend. As soon as the host announced his name to be Chicago’s main man this year, sparkling tears were noticed in Williams’ eyes. Post the announcement, in an interview, the Bears’ latest possession shared his feelings he was going through at the moment, “I care about my family, my friends..and the struggle of the Bears”.
This answers the reason behind the outflow of tears, his passion – Passion for his family, close ones, and most importantly for the Bears fans. The Windy City has been welcoming enough much before Williams’ entry was confirmed into the Bears program. The opportunity that Chicago endowed him with is very special since his journey in college football has been an emotional one.

Williams and his emotional moments
Williams has never been scared to wear his emotions on his sleeves. During his final season in Southern California, the USC Trojans gridiron star lost to Washington. What immediately followed was Williams breaking down in his mother’s arms. This act of the quarterback landed him in the negative scrutinization of NFL scouts who called him a “red flag” and targeted him for being “frickin weak and nuts”.

However, Williams later shared his feelings with Ryan Clark, Fighting for prioritizing mental health, in an interview the quarterback claimed, “Then I hopped up, and I touched my mom, and I just lost it. Because, in my mind, I was going through everything. I was like ‘this is it, coming near the end for me’. I can’t get to the Pac-12 Championship. I can’t go to the national playoffs, national championship.” Being an advocate for mental health, the quarterback tried to show that he is not scared of expressing his emotions and his status as a player never comes in the way.
Finally, the bad times are over for Williams it seems as his new home, Chicago Bears has accepted him with open arms. The day has arrived when the “Prince of Trojans” is all set to take vows as the “King of Bears”.
