Nick Saban‘s announcement of leaving the Alabama Crimson Tide has shaken the world of college football and his daughter seems to be equally distraught. The 28-year-old has been a primary part of her father’s 17-year legacy with Alabama and shared an emotional series of videos marking her time with the team.

The Saban family came to Alabama in 2007 when Nick signed with them after being with the Miami Dolphins for 2-years. Initially, the fans had their doubts about him but couldn’t have predicted his legendary legacy that would soon take over like a storm. Kristen shared the same sentiments as the fans as she shared images of her on the verge of tears trying to summarise the family’s time in Alabama.

Kristen Saban takes to Instagram to share an emotional note for the 17 years in Alabama

On 14th January, the daughter of Nick Saban, Kristen Saban, took to Instagram to share an emotional note regarding her family’s exit from the team. Her teary words come days after Saban announced his retirement from professional football after 17 years of sticking with Alabama through thick and thin.

She wrote in her story, “Tried to say something since I finally posted a recap of my time here. Can’t do it yet. Love yall so much. Your messages are absolutely beautifully written and heartfelt. I’m a creature of habit and change is hard. We will get there together.” Moreover, she posted a compilation of videos that followed her 17-year-long journey with the team and it got the fans crying along with her. But while she is extremely sad about Nick’s retirement, at the same time, she is glad to have him just be a dad now.

Nick Saban’s legacy will be etched into the heart of football for quite a long time now. The former Alabama coach will focus all his time and energy on his beloved family, away from the spotlights of the gridiron. Most of the fans have been majorly upset with his retirement but have given their due respect anyway. Plus, while Kristen has nothing but love for Alabama, she is really happy that Nick will be just a dad now.

She shared her thoughts on his retirement and said, “It’s bittersweet. For my whole life I’ve shared him with the world. Now, I can finally just have him be ‘Dad. I’m looking forward to more time together and more memories to be made.” The 71-year-old veteran coach has put down the cape finally and as a result, the sport of football will never be the same.
