How can EA Sports justify leaving out Hunter and Sanders from the top five? Absolute madness!

Despite so much hype and media attention for the Colorado Buffaloes, the team and the players keep getting the rotten grapes of the bunch. From NFL Mock Drafts to now being given underrated EA College Football 25-game ratings, Shedeur and Travis are having a rough time without this season even beginning yet.

Travis Hunter, the WR and CB for the Colorado Buffaloes, made it on the cover of the game, and as such, his snub comes off as a shock since he was supposed to be the best one but 6 other players top his ranking. Moreover, Shedeur Sanders is also touted to be a number 1 or 2 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft yet somehow he isn’t even in the top-15 of the game. Something feels off about these rankings but maybe that’s how the football spins.

On 10th July, the ‘CuBuffsFootball’ posted the ratings of both Shedeur and Travis that were released recently. While the two Colorado stars aren’t too far down on the list, they sure failed to make it within the top 5, as was the popular opinion prior to the release. Moreover, people expected Travis to be the only player in the game with a 100 overall rating due to his two-way talents, but unfortunately, that expectation was proven wrong as well.

According to the Instagram post, they ranked Travis Hunter in the 6th position with a 95 overall rating. Even though he’s considered the number 1 WR in the game, the OVR ranking definitely shocks the Colorado fans. Moreover, Shedeur’s talent was drastically snubbed since the QB couldn’t even make it in the top 10. The Buffs fans are again massively disappointed because Shedeur received the 17th overall ranking with a 93 OVR score. With all that said, let’s take a look at the top 10 players as rated by EA Sports College Football 25.

The game has made its return after more than a decade and while football fans worldwide have been itching to get their hands on it, the rankings might not sit right with a lot of the die-hard football fanatics. Starting with the number 1 spot, Michigan’s Will Johnson has taken the cake. With a rating of 96, the highest in the game, the cornerback is leading the pack.

Below him are the likes of Will Campbell of LSU with a 96 overall rating as well and then at number 3, Ollie Gordon from OSU with the same rating. These are the only 3 players in the game with a 96 OVR, which is surprising since the fans set their bars at a maximum of 99, and that too for Travis Hunter. While Shedeur couldn’t crack the top 10, it is noteworthy to mention that when it comes to quarterbacks, he’s leading ahead at the number 1 position. Shedeur has a 93 rating with Carson Beck right behind him with the same number at the 18th rank. Thus, though these rankings are now permanent, Shedeur and Travis still have a chance to prove these rankings wrong by performing exceptionally this season and possibly bringing home a national championship.
