Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears are in a lock. It is a rumor believed to be set in stone since Williams was announced to be a part of the 2024 NFL Draft. Most initial mock drafts touted the No. 1 projected QB to be drafted by the No. 1 pick-holding franchise. It was perfect…but was it too perfect? With about 3 weeks left for the NFL draft, questions about the Bears being a suitable pick for a QB as dexterous as Williams started swirling.

Chicago Football Connection argued that Williams could easily land “elite franchises if he tried harder”. Joy Taylor from Fox Sports, too, was not a fan of Williams joining the Bears since “He’s going to a team that has no culture, has no history of winning as of late, whose coach we don’t know is a good head coach, etc.” With all the probabilities of Williams’ future seeing a downward slope if he joins the Bears, now it seems that Caleb Williams is having second thoughts about him joining the Bears as well.

Caleb Williams’s tweet set the NFL world ablaze. The boldness with which the QB shared the text and the meme with it was enough to make the fans double-check it. “You’re a clown if you think offensive line is the most important part of the team,” read the text in the tweet. The accompanying picture was of, indeed, the Joker. And that’s not where it gets interesting., fans are flooding the X, tagging the Chigaco Bears in thousands of tweets demanding one thing that a fan rightly pointed out: “I’m content with an above-average OT and a backup Center. Give me Odunze!”

This sudden craze for the Bears drafting Odunze has taken over social media, and Williams’s post, emphasizing the importance of offensive line, even for him, seemed to trace back to the fans’ demand of the Bears drafting Rome Odunze, instead of him. To their sheer joy, Matt Eberflus and Co. might already be considering the possibility.

Bears to host Rome Odunze

Now, the spotlight shifts to the WR position as the Bears schedule a meeting with Rome Odunze just weeks before the NFL Draft. The Halas Hall is all set to invite the top 30 prospects across the Nation. One among them is Washington WR Rome Odunze, whom the Bears are to host on Thursday, per Ian Rapoport.

Since 4 QBs are expected to be drafted in the first five picks, where one team outside of the top 10 is highly likely to move up for a QB, the chances of Odunze falling to Chicago are as real as they get. Safe to say, with the draft day just around the corner, the Chicago Bears have a huge decision to make.
