It’s time for some words of support from Caleb Williams’ teammates. The latest episode of the YouTube podcast, Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams, featured USC Trojans running back Marshawn Lloyd, who showered words of praise for Williams. Describing the No. 1 NFL draft prospect as the “best,” he expressed his confidence in the quarterback’s ability to be the “No. 1 pick.”

He further scrutinized Williams’ gameplay in the podcast, claiming it would lead him to the top. However, the Lloyd-Williams duo will break since his chances of landing in Chicago Bears seem nil.

Lloyd seems all confident about longtime friend Williams

Lloyd and Williams have played multiple games together, sometimes in the same team, while sometimes against each other. Tracing down what he has picked up from his experience of playing with the quarterback, Lloyd confessed, “I’ve seen Caleb do this his whole life. I played Little League with him, I played Middle School against them. I played High School against him and I played with him in college. So this everything he does is just special you know. He can do anything.”

He further pointed out how Williams is unique in his own way and showcases strengths in diverse areas. According to Lloyd, “He can throw it from any angle, he can launch it as far as possible and he can make any play on his feet and with the ball in his hands and it’s just super special. A lot of teams doesn’t realize how athletic he is so once they get to see you know the real Caleb Williams and understand.”

Before transferring to USC Trojans, Lloyd spent three years at South Carolina. However, he was too excited to join his high school friend in his next stop. But now that the Bears will pick up Williams, Lloyd will again be away from the quarterback.

Break to Williams-Lloyd power duo

The running back is projected to be taken somewhere between the third and fifth rounds of the NFL draft. As presented in the mock draft by Dane Brugler, Lloyd will probably land up in the NFC West now that the Arizona Cardinals will have a pick at No.90. Williams’ teammate had put together a very solid season with the Trojans last year.

Putting up 820 yards and nine touchdowns over the 11 games he played, Lloyd was the key to the offensive attack for USC. Collaboration between the quarterback and the running back prevailed. As pointed out by the Trojans HC, Lincoln Riley, “Trust Caleb Williams to create a 14-point first-half lead by throwing for scores and downfield strikes. Trust MarShawn Lloyd to protect that multi-score lead in the second half by running the ball down an opponent’s throat.”

However, this season will be a break to the dynamic duo of Williams-Lloyd. With Williams being finalized as the Chicago Bears take, if not Arizona, Lloyd will land up with the Los Angeles Chargers, walking the same path as former USC running backs coach Kiel McDonald.
