Deion Sanders and his sons leading Colorado—Is this the start of a new dynasty?

Travis Hunter just keeps adding honors to his profile! Recently, EA Sports College Football 25 unveiled its top 100 players, and Hunter didn’t just make the list, he landed in the Top 10 at #6 overall. The Buffs’ two-way phenom is also said to be the No.1 wide receiver in that list. That’s not even all! He even boasts an overall rating of 95, edging out his teammate, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who came in at #17 with a 93 rating.

But wait a minute. Where was Hunter during the Buffs’ big night? It was Big 12 Media Day for Colorado, and the star athlete was noticeably absent right after grabbing such amazing accolades. Turns out, Hunter’s loyalty lies with EA Sports.

The sports media giant didn’t just rank him on their top list. But also made him the cover athlete for their upcoming video game months back. While many questioned his absence, Hunter was busy playing the early access version of the game, even posting an IG story with the caption “500 Subs and I’m playing NCAA,” as a cheeky response to the media buzz.

However, the Sanders family held down the fort on Media Day. Coach Deion Sanders, along with sons Shilo and Shedeur, proudly represented the Colorado Buffaloes program. Shilo and Shedeur sported the team’s classic black and gold uniforms, posing for pictures and promoting the Buffs to the media. Even Punter Mark Vassett joined the Sanders crew for the big day.

Despite Hunter’s absence, Deion didn’t seem to forget his star player. He showered Hunter with praise, clearly excited to have him on the team and ready to unleash his talent on the field this season.

Coach Prime hypes Travis Hunter’s two-way dominance

The Buffs’ Big 12 media day saw reporters peppering Coach Deion Sanders with questions about star player Travis Hunter’s playing style. Deion couldn’t resist bragging about Hunter’s talents as both a cornerback and a wide receiver. He even went as far as comparing him to legendary CB Champ Bailey and WR Charles Woodson: “Those guys are unbelievable,” Deion said, “but he’s [Hunter] the best receiver in college football and he’s the best cornerback in college football.”

The hype is real! Last year, Hunter proved his offensive skills with a whopping 721 receiving yards. And he showcased his defensive prowess too with 30 tackles. Whether he lives up to the comparisons to those legendary names remains to be seen, but Deion has it all well-planned.

“I know when to give him rest,” Deion said, assuring everyone he has organized a schedule for Hunter leading into the Big 12 games. After all, Hunter’s injury last season not only stunted his stats but also impacted the Buffs’ win record. Thus the Buffaloes head coach is clearly taking steps to avoid a repeat, allowing Hunter to chill with his video games now, but prepared to dominate on the field.
