Alabama Crimson Tide’s 5-0 streak might be on the chopping block this Saturday. As the Thin Red Line gears up to face the daunting Texas A&M Aggies, their best player may not even make it to the field. Reportedly, Alabama’s star quarterback Bryce Young may not start on Sunday, after sustaining a shoulder injury last week.

A Source tells ‘ProFootballNetwork’ that Young is expected to miss the game against the Aggies on Saturday. This claim was further reinforced when Young was held back from throwing drills during practice this week. “There was no reason for him to throw a lot this week,” Nick Saban, head coach of Alabama, said after practice on Thursday.
The reigning Heisman Trophy winner suffered his injury in early last week’s game against the Arkansas Razorbacks, during an awkward landing after being sacked. He stayed on for one more play, but the pain was evidently unbearable to push through.
Young’s replacement, Jalen Milroe, ran the majority of the plays against the Razorbacks. He finished with 4/9 for 65 yards and 1 touchdown. A former four-star prospect, he came to Alabama in 2021, and last season appeared in 4 games.
How does the Alabama offense look with or without Bryce Young?

If Milroe starts, the Alabama offense could look a lot different. It could very well be a lot of pressure on the running back Jahmyr Gibbs. This is also due to RB#2 Jase McClellan injuring himself against Arkansas. Milroe also brings a “run element” to the offense, as showcased by his 77-yard dash in the 4th quarter against Arkansas.
But if Young does start, it will be interesting to see how much Saban will push him. A shoulder injury will limit his throwing, which could result in more rushing plays.

Saturday’s game against the Aggies brings its own set of dramatic scenes. Aggies’ head coach Jimbo Fisher is the only one of Saban’s former assistants to defeat him in a regular season game. Added to that, their off-season beef will certainly give both managers a thirst to claim bragging rights on Saturday.
