The College Football Report on X delivered the good news that Jim Harbaugh’s contract extension is moving forward very quickly. The Head coach was in contract talks with the university even before the sign-stealing allegation came into the frame. Harbaugh’s current contract pays him an enormous sum of $7.3M a year, which is set to expire in the year 2026.

Nevertheless, the coach is going to be paid with a new five-year contract of $36.7M. This contract would definitely make him the highest-paid coach in the conference very quickly. The post on X emphasized that this is indeed a very crazy spin of events, considering the university and the Head Coach himself were involved in sign-stealing.

NCAA’s sign-stealing investigation update

The university’s football staffer, Conner Stalions, is at the center of the investigation as he reportedly purchased tickets to Michigan’s potential football opponents’ games and also reportedly distributed them to at least three other people from different parts of the country. He is also currently accused of illegal scouting and sign-stealing. Stalions is, thus, currently suspended till the truth comes to light.

It is also interestingly reported that the Michigan computers have hard evidence of the scandal. If the NCAA’s investigation proves that, indeed, the scandal was true, the university and Harbaugh are going to end up facing penalties, and the consequence could be anything. Do you think this is going to affect Harbaugh’s chance to sign the bright contract?
