Weighing at 219lbs, he finished third in the Heisman Trophy, losing to Jayden Daniels and Michael Phenix Jr. In his final collegiate game in the Fiesta Bowl, Nix broke Mac Jones’ record for the highest single-season completion percentage. In 2023, he got 4508 passing yards with the Oregon Ducks and 45 passing touchdowns. He also amassed a total of 234 rushing yards and six rushing touchdowns.

He enjoyed a close on-field partnership with Troy Franklin, who made 81 catches for 1,383 yards and completed 14 touchdowns. In the most recent game to showcase his talents, Nix appeared to be struggling for form. While practicing for the Senior Bowl, he seemed to miss some passes and looked like a shadow of his previous self.
