Blake Corum has gone down on a knee and taken on the role of a fiance now since he’s proposed to his longtime girlfriend Makiah Shipp.

The running back for the Los Angeles Rams is now an engaged man and has followed the same path as his former teammate, J.J. McCarthy, who is now with the Minnesota Vikings. McCarthy too, proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Katya Kuropas, in January 2024 and it looks like both the phenomenal star players of the Wolverines want to start building their legacy with their wives behind their backs. “Behind every successful man, there is a woman.”

On 30th June, Blake Corum took to Instagram to announce that the love of his life, Makiah Shipp, said yes to his romantic proposal and the fans couldn’t be happier for him. Though the couple has kept their relationship quiet for the past 4 years they’ve been together, Corum and Shipp went all out to showcase their blossoming love for each other.

The couple captioned the post with, “Forever with my better half❤️” as they posed under a starry night with the words, ‘Marry Me’ shining bright behind them. The comments were swarmed with the heartiest congratulations from friends and other players like former Michigan player AJ Barner and Caleb Williams, who wrote, “Blessings! Congrats!❤️” and “Congrats 🔥” respectively. Moreover, Corum has entered the NFL this year and while he was hoping to get a different ring in the league, he sure has a ring with his wife already, which might just be more valuable. Blake Corum and Makiah Shipp- Where did it all start?

The former RB for the Michigan Wolverines was undoubtedly one of the best players in the 2024 class. He set a rushing record on the gridiron and even went on to win a national championship last year and while he’s had a successful career so far, his wife boasts of medals that exist outside the roughhousing sport of football.

Makiah Shipp is a social justice and youth advocate and is even the author of a children’s book titled, “Makiah’s Show and Tell,” which revolves around a young black girl trying to fight racism at a timid age. She has been a prominent youth activist in her university as an authoritative figure who amplified marginalized voices. Moreover, Shipp was born in Michigan and later went to U-Michigan on a scholarship, which is where she met the love of her life, Blake.

The two began dating in early 2022 and even though both of them were quite popular in their own ways, they chose to keep their relationship under the radar and out of the media’s spotlight. Though the couple would occasionally show their affection for each other on social media, they wouldn’t resort to anything too loud or outlandish. Alas! Their love is now an open book for the entire nation to witness as the college sweethearts both continue to excel in their respective fields, making their marriage and bond stronger with each passing day.
