Arch Manning, the quarterback for the Texas Longhorns, is one of the best talents in the 2024 class. However, he ended up raising a lot of eyebrows when he announced his decision to not take part in the game and rather, focus on playing the sport physically. Additionally, the official cover of the game features Quinn Ewers, the starting QB for the Longhorns, and ironically, the next-best Longhorns’ QB, chose not to participate and be at the front of the storm that surrounds him and the Mannings.

Arch Manning is the punchline in everyone’s jokes

The fans have highlighted how it is of pivotal importance to the legacy of the Mannings, as Arch’s last name holds a lot of value in the sport, referring to Eli and Peyton Manning. It might be a long time before the next College Football game is released or the next Manning comes to continue the family legacy. As such, it is more than a disappointment to not see Arch in the game, when he holds such a high reputation among the fans for his skills and the mentality he possesses as a player.

A fan references a video clip from the Pivot podcast where the host ended up defending the QB for his decision and wrote, “He never names a legitimate reason that he should say no in that video😂. All he does is glaze the Mannings and reference how Arch has expectations. He creates bad publicity on himself by declining a deal with no drawbacks.”

The negative publicity angle stands out as Arch is known to donate all his NIL money to charity and cares about nothing except his passion for football. As such, even though he might have genuine reasons, his disagreement to comply might end up overwhelming the positive reputation he has with his fans. Next, a fan had a rather diplomatic view when he pointed out that Arch has a lot of pressure compared to other players but also, he should’ve just taken part in the game. He said, “Arch Manning has more weight on his shoulders than any other college player. With that said $600 and a copy of the game still doesnt sound bad. lol”

Again, yet another of the fans who pointed out the irony of how they can just make their own players by giving him the name of Arch Manning. They wrote, “Yeah not like we can make someone named Archh manning or anything😂”

Lastly, this user had a wishful thought for the game by hoping that they put a player in the game with his stats so that they have no conundrums in changing his name. He said, “I hope they make his realistic build and stats and name him something else so all I gotta do is change his name lol”

Thus, even though everyone seems to be upset with Arch’s decision, it is clear that they all desperately want him in the game. This just goes to show how valuable his talent and his last name is.
