Shedeur Sanders faced two big reality checks this year. First, he was passed over by Georgia’s Carson Beck for the top quarterback spot in the 2025 NFL mock drafts. Soon, the second disappointment came as he missed out on the EA Sports College Football 25 cover to his own teammate, the Buffs’ two-way star Travis Hunter. Now, seeing No. 12 on the cover instead of the expected No. 2 jersey raised a lot of eyebrows.
Whispers quickly turned into rumors, with some suggesting that Shedeur might be jealous of Hunter’s coveted success. It didn’t help that Shedeur stayed silent on social media, offering no public congratulations to his teammate. Although he did leave a single ‘fire’ comment on the EA Sports page, fans felt it wasn’t enough for his best friend and fellow Buffalo. Now, with the controversy still swirling, Shedeur’s brother has stepped in with a new pitch to resolve the issue.
How about “Perfect Timing” in the EA Sports College Football 25 trailer?

Colorado fans were disappointed on May 16 when the covers for EA Sports College Football 25 were unveiled. One poster featured 3 top college stars (Donovan Edwards, Quinn Ewers, and Travis Hunter), while the deluxe edition showed a graphic montage of several NCAA players. But notably, the Buffs’ quarterback was missing from both. However, Shedeur’s brother and the founder of “Well Off Media,” Deion Sanders Jr. has come up with a creative solution. Taking to his X handle, he suggested “They should’ve put ‘Perfect Timing’ on NCAA 25.”

Interestingly, Shedeur’s “Perfect Timing” single was released just ten days before the cover reveal. And this light-hearted suggestion, replacing the trailer’s “Welcome to the Jungle” theme with Shedeur’s song, would have ensured both Buff’s stars received recognition in some way. Even though Deion Jr. tried to make things more cheerful with this playful idea, it looks like the jealousy rumors about Shedeur might stick around for some time.

What Travis Hunter did was truly impressive. The Colorado Buffaloes haven’t won the National Championship in several decades, but they managed to get on the coveted cover alongside players who did well in recent championship seasons. It’s a fantastic moment of celebration for the Buffaloes, and head coach Deion Sanders rightly boosted the excitement by sharing the trailer and posters on his social media. Shedeur, however, simply reshared the trailer without much fanfare for Hunter’s accomplishment.
This lack of public support fueled speculation and “Rico Knows” even compared Shedeur to the “evil stepsister who’s jealous of Cinderella.” Rico thinks the rumors might be true because both Shedeur and Hunter are like Coach Prime’s sons — Shedeur literally and Hunter is the “theoretical son.” Since they’re so tight, he feels Shedeur should have publicly congratulated Hunter on the cover, like a good brother would. This might not have stopped the jealousy rumors completely, but it probably wouldn’t have gotten this bad.
