Deion Sanders has already been planning for Shedeur’s next move since the Buffs HC expects his son to land among the top 5 picks in the 2025 NFL draft. As Coach Prime sketches out the probable programs, the quarterback will land, and Shedeur will be the engine driving the offense. Going by the reports by B/R’s NFL scouting department, Shedeur coming off the board as the third quarterback will probably be landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers as the 14th pick. Besides, Coach Prime’s son, the Buffs, has a new name to channel their focus to. It is the big face of USC Trojans, Lewis.

The reason behind Lewis being the topic of discussion is the quarterback’s latest tweet. The video shared by him with the caption, “Headed back to Boulder”, is mainly about the highlights and the best moments that Buffaloes witnessed last season. The video starts with “WELCOME HOME” written in block white letters on a gridiron and features stalwarts from the HC to Dwayne “Rock Johnson” celebrating the big wins that the Buffs witnessed. But in the end, it did leave a cryptic hint as the visual declares that the Carrollton High School QB, Julian Lewis’ official visit, is scheduled between June 21 and June 23.

Lewis, a future Buffs phenom in the making

The tweet dropped on May 21, Tuesday and ever since then, Lewis has been the talk of the Buffs town. As per the reports presented by 247Sports Composite, the quarterback holds the rank of No. 16 overall prospect. As far as the 2025 class is concerned, the Trojans five-star phenom is the No. 2 QB. However, Lewis is not an immediate joiner and will be able to step his foot only when Shedeur goes sailing the NFL ship, he would represent a significant recruiting coup.

Even though this time Lewis’ chances of joining hands with Sanders’ program might sound new to some, the class of 2025 prospect has already visited Boulder twice. His most recent trip to Boulder was in March. It has been not even a year since Lewis committed to USC last August. Even though he was physically part of the Trojans, the Buffaloes seemed to have been reigning in his mind for quite some time now.

It is very difficult to go past eagled-eyed Buffs’ attentions as they spotted Lewis at the Rivals Camp Series in Atlanta rocking a Buffaloes towel. As Andrew Ivins labels Lewis as a “true escape artist,” will he be able to replace Shedeur Sanders and be Deion Sanders’ next favorite?
