Fran Brown gets his moment under the sun with his new role. The former Georgia University defense coach now gets a titular position. The 41-year-old coaching institution worked with Kirby Smart at Georgia University and learned a lot. He now becomes the latest from the school of coaching to write his legacy as an HC.

While four people have gone on to become a Power 5 head coach, the same can be said about Brown. He gets his crowning moment, albeit a bit late, but it’s worth the wait! This new role will demand its own challenges and objectives from the HC. Syracuse would feel lucky to have the sort of coach that they required. Given the changes the side has undergone this year, Brown comes in as a welcomed change.

The Syracuse management let go of their seasoned HC, Dion Babers. Eight years after taking the role, the HC was axed midway through the season due to the lackluster results. On the lookout for a new HC in their ranks, Syracuse absorbed Georgia’s defense coach. This is the fourth time a Georgia staffer has been directly hired to become a Power 5 head coach. Brown joins Lanning, Mel Tucker, and Sam Pittman as the list of Smart assistants to be hired.

Upon joining the team, Fran Brown expressed his gratitude and gave his official statement. The new HC is quite proud of the side already and the things that they’ve achieved. He also stressed the need to bring in positive changes to make them stronger.

Brown’s mental prowess and the ability to push his teammates make him the best at his job. He prioritized putting player’s progress first and giving them a platform to express themselves. Brown also pointed out how to develop stronger working relationships with teammates.

“My immediate area of focus is building relationships with my current players and putting together an elite staff while also having fun on the recruiting trail. I’m ready to get to work and look forward to building something special for our fans,” reasoned a calm Fran Brown as he closed out his official statement.

Ahead of the 2024-25 NCAA season, all the attention would be on the newly signed Syracuse HC to deliver results.
