Speculation is ablaze surrounding Bryce Underwood and the college program he might choose to join. As a coveted 5-star quarterback, Underwood brings undeniable value to any team, having led his school to two state championships with stellar performances. The question now lingers: among the final teams in contention, which one will he ultimately select?
Bryce Underwood has included Colorado in the roster of top programs that have piqued his interest. However, current predictions suggest that LSU holds the upper hand in recruiting the elite quarterback. The looming question is whether LSU is the optimal landing spot for the top-ranked QB to thrive.

According to On3 prediction, LSU has a 91.7% chance of bagging the 5-star QB, but is it a good place to thrive as a QB? Reigning Heisman Trophy winner and LSU starting QB Jayden Daniels is in his senior season and is eligible for the 2024 NFL draft. If he leaves, LSU still has Garrett Nussmeier who is likely to be the starting QB, followed by Rickie Collins and Colin Hurley. So if Bryce Underwood joins LSU, he’ll have to wait until 2025 to become the next potential starting QB for the Tigers.
As for his prospect with the CU Buffs, it’s a similar scenario. Shedeur Sanders will be entering the NFL draft in 2025, which also gives him time to help recruit the 2025 class. We also need to consider that LSU finished this season with 9-3 while Colorado reaped 4-8, meaning Coach Prime needs a 5-star reinforcement.

Is Bryce Underwood Colorado’s surprise?
Bryce Underwood attended the CSU game in Week 3 when the Buffs crushed the Rams 43-35. He bonded with Coach Prime, Shedeur Sanders, and their 5-star commit Jordan Seaton. The 6’4 QB even posed for a picture with Coach Prime Deion Sanders with the Buffs’ “We Coming” in the background, which he uploaded to Twitter in September.
And when the QB was asked about his experience that day, he said, “It was a crazy experience and helped ease me into a position that I want to be in soon. Just getting to meet somebody like [Coach Prime] was a big accomplishment.”
