The horizon at Colorado has started to shift and Deion Sanders can only watch as his outrageous plans give way to despair and disintegration. Irrespective of his team’s performance, it’s clear that Prime Time is dedicating considerable time and effort to revitalizing the Colorado program, aspiring to transform the Buffaloes into a football powerhouse.

Despite declaring that both his star quarterback sons, Shedeur and Shilo, won’t be entering the NFL Draft in 2024, allowing the coach ample time to enhance and fortify the visibly struggling football program at Boulder, there are numerous disheartening departures at Colorado, that has left both the team’s and Coach Prime’s time at Boulder uncertain.

Tim Brewster left a memorable legacy despite modest on-field success. Now departing as the tight ends coach for the University of Colorado, Brewster gained attention for his viral introductory speech to the players, adopting an authoritative tone. However, not everyone, including former quarterback and analyst Danny Kanell, was impressed. Kanell suggested that such a coaching style wouldn’t work in the NFL. Brewster responded on Twitter, asserting his successful five-year stint as an NFL tight ends coach and highlighting Antonio Gates as one of his success stories.

Brewster, joining Coach Prime from Jackson State, brought decades of NFL and college coaching experience to Boulder. A product of Mack Brown’s coaching tree, he previously coached with the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers, later becoming the head coach at Minnesota. Despite Sanders relying on Brewster’s experience, he was eventually replaced mid-season by co-offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. This move didn’t yield significant changes, and Colorado ended the season on a six-game losing streak after a promising 3-0 start in non-conference play. Brewster’s resignation paves the way for Hall-of-Famer Warren Sapp to potentially join Sanders’ staff in 2024.
