To embark on his journey with the Chicago Bears, quarterback Caleb Williams received valuable advice from a former Bears quarterback. The much-hyped collegiate football player finally got into the Bears as the first overall pick. Upon arriving in Chicago, the rookie QB received immense love and support from the Bears enthusiasts.

Williams, who is known for his strong throws, will be providing strength to the Bears offense. Subsequently, he was on the radar of many NFL franchises, but the Bears’ first-round pick allowed them to select Williams. To move forward, a former Bear has a few valuable words for the new Bears QB. 

Caleb Williams should “play hard”

The Bears’ former quarterback Jim McMahon shared what Williams needs do with his game if he intends to make an impact on the franchise fans. McMahon is the only Super Bowl-winning QB in the Bears’ history. He won the championship in 1985 and since then the Bears are merely desiring for another one.

Sharing his advice, McMahon said, “If I could give you just one piece of advice, and that’s to play hard. If you play hard, the fans will love you. And if you happen to play hard and win it all, the fans are going to love you forever.

Williams will play as a starting quarterback for the Bears. The young QB will have the responsibility of ending almost 40 years of Super Bowl drought for the Bears. But can the rookie player fulfil the drams of the franchise fans?

Former USC quarterback scored 3633 yards and 30 touchdowns in the 2023 collegiate football season. Moreover, in the 2022 season, Williams scored 4500 yards and 52 touchdowns, making him a Heisman trophy winner in the following year. After donning such stats, Williams has reignited hopes for the Bears to end their Super Bowl drought.

The QB will also find support from the likes of wide receiver Rome Odunze. Alongside Williams, Odunze was drafted by the Bears in the 2024 NFL draft. Under the guidance of head coach Matt Eberflus, the Bears will be setting their eyes on the ultimate NFL glory in the 2025 season. The answer to whether Williams will succeed in leading the Bears to a Super Bowl can’t be determined for now.
