The Deion Sanders charm didn’t work the 3rd time. Will it be on the 4th? The question has been plaguing Deion Sanders and Co. for the past 8 months since they began their hunt to get Shedeur Sanders’ replacement locked for the 2025 class. The stars seem to be working in their favor as the No.2 QB in the class of 2026 first reclassified himself in the class of 2025. Secondly, Julian Lewis is still testing the market despite committing to Lincoln Riley and Co. But what are the odds that Lewis would indeed accept Deion Sanders’ bait? Especially when the majority of transfer players out of CU, Cormani McClain and Gavin Kuld, being the epitome here, are allegedly exposing the hidden facades there?

Lewis has already visited Colorado thrice. While it highlights his interest in joining the squad of Deion Sanders, his interest in Auburn, Georgia, and Alabama presents a pressing situation for Sanders. On3s Josh Newberg thinks the milestone of making Julian ‘Juju’ Lewis flip to Colorado would be a massive ‘statement-maker‘ for the Buffs. “We want to see him land another top 5 star. I think landing Juju, especially if he’s ready to shut this thing down by the end of July or June when he’s done making official business, I think it could go a long way for Colorado,” Newberg says, highlighting the impact the recruit of Lewis could establish for CU in the long run.

The move would also be the ultimate response to the rumors of Deion Sanders ditching Colorado once his sons move to the NFL, as the ON3 host describes. “It shows a commitment to staying. It kind of quiets the noise. You land the No.2 QB in the country, it shows that you’re not only thinking ahead, you might be thinking 2-3 years ahead,” Newberg added. The reasons are plenty, and so are the hopes of Deion Sanders and Co. But what are the odds of Juju liking what he would come face-to-face in Boulder?

Julian Lewis and Deion Sanders’ CU empire

“Who wants to go in and back up the coach’s son?” was the direct dagger of Pete Thamel at Deion Sanders after Gavin Kuld’s claims. The word tarnished the already torched image of Deion Sanders further. “Mainly because Deion came in and insulted most of the ones who were in the room and scared them off,” Thamel explains.

Kuld’s claims of Shedeur not valuing other QBs enough might have done their job, but Lewis knows that he could be the top dog once Shedeur Sanders and other elite players leave for the NFL. The sound of being a top dog of one of the most popular programs can surely sound luring to Lewis.

Even if the ‘popularity’ part is ignored, Lewis’s genuine interest in working with Prime simply can’t be overlooked. “Coach Prime is super positive and motivating. Talking to Coach Shurmur and Shedeur, they want me to make the best decision for me, but made it clear that I have the opportunity to play early,” Juju confessed with regards to Colorado. Even Lewis’s dad has paid a visit to Colorado which is a big sign in favor of Deion Sanders. Now, we just wait and see.
