Deion Sanders Jr. believes in his father's vision—do you think Coach Prime will prove the doubters wrong?

Deion Sanders’ reign at Colorado might not be winning over everyone, especially ESPN’s Paul Finebaum.  During the SEC Media Day, Finebaum aimed at the Buffaloes, calling them “irrelevant in the big picture of college football” and dismissing their playoff chances under Coach Prime. These harsh words soon sparked a firestorm of responses.

Fans and analysts defended Colorado, pointing out their “relevance” due to Deion’s star power.  They argued that despite a rough 4-8 season, the team attracts fans and generates media buzz. Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III even chimed in, calling Colorado a media magnet for the NCAA.

But the most interesting reaction came from Deion’s family. On July 19, Deion Sanders Jr. posted a playful message on Instagram: “I don’t condone cursing or negativity… BUT sometimes I DO WONDER how INSANE/how LEGENDARY it would be if he responded to people like this.” The post included a clip of Deion Sr. delivering a classic smackdown: “You just don’t know who I am. I’m Deion Luwynn motherf***ing Sanders.” Of course, Deion Sanders never curses, so the beeped part was a playful edit by Deion Jr. showing his approach to negativity.

Meanwhile, Deion Sanders himself did respond to Finebaum, but not in the way Bucky expected. He took a more lighthearted approach, posting on his social media: “God is good my brother & they mad mad! I sense a bit of anger & hostility. Lolololololol God bless.” This response, while funny, didn’t quite match the fiery comebacks fans were hoping for like the brutal shots Lane Kiffin famously threw at Finebaum.

Deion Jr. even named Kiffin as his favorite coach for that very reason!

Bucky wants Deion Sanders to unleash the inner Kiffin

Have an interesting take?

ESPN’s Paul Finebaum doesn’t hold back his criticism, and even Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin wasn’t spared. Years ago, Kiffin was fired after a rough start with the USC Trojans. He blames himself for that season but also partially credits Finebaum! Back then, Finebaum called Kiffin the “Miley Cyrus of college football” and said he should be fired.  Well, guess who got fired? Kiffin. Fast forward to SEC Media Day on July 18. Finebaum probably thought he was being nice and praising Kiffin.  But Kiffin wasn’t buying it. He used the opportunity to fire back with some serious heat.

“So you were wrong on that,” Kiffin said, reminding Finebaum of his “Miley Cyrus” comment.  He added a brutal jab: “I really don’t know what you’re good at. You predicted Coach Saban was done. That didn’t happen. You basically said Miley Cyrus stinks, and she’s still going.”

This epic comeback wasn’t lost on Deion Sanders Jr. either. He reposted the whole thing on Instagram with a caption that said, “Coach Lane Kiffin is my next favorite coach after my dad.”  It looks like Bucky was definitely hoping for a similar fiery response from Deion Sanders, too, when it came to Finebaum’s criticism!
