Beginning on March 18, Shedeur Sanders and Co. have been working hard to get to where they are today as they excelled in their first outdoor spring practice. As it continues, the Buffs’ offense has stolen the spotlight, giving hope to fans for their upcoming spring game on April 27.

The Buffs’ spring football practice is a crucial event for high-profile prospects to witness the team’s progress. Deion Sanders has already brought in potential recruits, including Shedeur Sanders’ potential replacement, who got a firsthand experience of the Buffs’ training. LaJohntay Wester shines under Shedeur Sanders’ skilled throw

CU Buffs Football and LaJohntay Wester recently uploaded an Instagram reel captioned “Gettin’ active” as the freshman WR made an impressive catch. In a perfect throw from QB Shedeur Sanders, Wester skillfully dodged a defensive player in a yellow jersey and made a great catch, highlighting the hype of the Buffs’ offense.

The video clip featuring LaJohntay Wester, a transfer from Florida Atlantic, showcases his exceptional skills. At FAU, he was a standout player, recording 17 catches for 114 yards and a touchdown in 2020. His final season in 2023 was even more impressive, earning him the title of the program’s all-time leading receiver with 108 receptions for 1,168 yards and eight TDs. He was also recognized as the First-team All-ACC, AAC special teams player of the year, and First-team All-American as a punt returner. His decision to join Shedeur Sanders in Colorado on January 10, 2024, adds a significant boost to the team’s roster and serves as a testament to the Buffs’ growing reputation.

Colorado improves 2024 roster with a special 2025 prospect

Deion Sanders added the latest addition to the Buffs roster on Thursday as Starke’s Bradford HS cornerback Malakai Murphy declared his commitment to join Colorado. The 6’1″, 190-pounder recorded 30 tackles with 4 PDUs last season and could be an excellent defender for both speed and size. He’s the 38th player to join Colorado’s 2024 class.

The energy and hype of Colorado spring practice also enticed possible Shedeur Sanders replacement in 5-star QB Julian Lewis, a 2025 class recruit. While he’s currently committed to the USC Trojans, he’s still looking for a team that would suit him best, and Deion Sanders seems to have impressed him. During his second visit to Colorado, he said, “Colorado has a lot of energy. Coach Prime is super positive and motivating.” The Buffs are already heading in the right direction, but a lot will be taken into account in their spring football game set to take place in two weeks.
