It looks like the Alabama Crimson Tide are enforcing new changes in the management to better their chances for next season. Ever since the exit of legendary coach Nick Saban, the fans have been in doubt about the team’s success with Kalen DeBoer taking over, but their latest update in management staff will certainly serve as quality reassurance that this is still the dominating Alabama.
The news comes days after Ryan Grubb announced his decision to leave the Tide for the Seattle Seahawks. He was the former OC for the team before the rumors of Sheridan arose. More importantly, he’s been the right-hand man of DeBoer’s success at Washington and was expected to take Alabama to new heights. But it’s shocking how quickly DeBoer decided to replace his friend and former colleague with Nick Sheridan, who just might be the new OC for Alabama.

Nick Sheridan’s resume speaks volumes of his credibility and coaching skills. He was the quarterback, tight end coach, as well as offensive coordinator of the Indiana Hoosiers. The fans have loved Sheridan’s strategies ever since his stint with Washington and are hoping he can replicate his success in Alabama. It’s apparent that a new tide has swept over the team, but will they come close to filling the shoes of Saban’s success? Here are JD PicKell’s thoughts on Sheridan’s likely promotion.
JD PicKell would rather have Kalen DeBoer at the forefront rather than Nick Sheridan
The news of Nick Sheridan taking over the role of OC has certainly turned a lot of heads in the NCAA. Seeing how Sheridan followed in DeBoer’s footsteps from Washington to Alabama, several fans are insinuating that the new HC had a direct hand to play in this upgrade. Though there’s not a lot of resistance against Sheridan being the OC, JD PicKell from On3 preferred DeBoer over him.

PicKell said, “Yeah, well, if they gave me the power to pick the next offensive coordinator, I think Kalen DeBoer being your head coach and your OC would make a lot of sense and not so much from like a long-term perspective. I think long term, you eventually want to be able to be that CEO and have somebody else call the plays for you.”
He further added, “He’s currently the tight ends coach. I don’t hate that move. I think at the very least you provide some continuity … So if it’s me, I’m tagging myself to Kalen DeBoer but Nick Sheridan is not a bad movie either.” Thus, he will be awaiting Sheridan’s performance in terms of Alabama’s offense along with the fans as the next season draws closer.
