Caleb Williams was one of the finest players in college football until this season. The 7-5 season was simply a disaster for the previous year’s Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams. So much so that even his availability for the potential Bowl game this year is highly questioned as the Trojans conclude their 2023 regular season.

To put it in simple words, USC’s performance this season devastated Caleb Williams. As a result, he made a decision, something that garnered much criticism from experts across the world. After Williams and Co. led the team to a humbling 38-20 loss against the underdogs UCLA Bruins, their playoff appearance dreams were shattered. Following this, the Trojans QB decided to renounce his media availability.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport shared his two cents on the decision. But he took another road to address the situation, unlike other analysts who were quick to demoralize Williams. Instead, the NFL Insider compared the move with former Ohio State QB Joe Burrow. “Joe Burrow learned his season was over on Friday, understood his responsibility, and went out and held a news conference. The job of a QB and face of the franchise,” tweeted Rapoport. However, Jake Schwanitz came to Williams’s defense with a strong “People gotta relax when it comes to Caleb man, it ain’t that big of a deal.”

Burrow, the present QB of the Bengals, led his team to a score of 5-5 this season. However, their QB concluded his season after a brutal torn ligament. Yet Burrow was not the one to shy away from the media, even though it meant the Bengals saying goodbye to their Pro Bowl signal-caller. Hence, the Juxtaposition by the NFL Insider of the two was a sarcastic take on Williams’s decision to stay silent.
