Colorado Buffaloes players have challenged the claims against Deion Sanders, debunking his “dictator” status. The Buffs head coach and his son, Deion Sanders Jr., took to social media platform X to stand up for themselves after the Shedeur-Lil Wayne Concert controversy.

But they are not alone in this dark phase! A chorus of voices is backing them up. While the Buffs who failed to make it to the Prime Weekend concert are still happily a part of the roster, it is unbelievable that players had to be forced to watch Lil Wayne where the tickets were sold for as much as $170.

Deion Sanders Jr. got set to overturn the ex-Buffs’ narrative surrounding the Lil Wayne concert and Coach Prime’s mind game to promote Shedeur, the budding rapper. What better platform to bring up the truth other than the Well Off Media YouTube page? Bucky, armed with his deadliest weapon (read: camera), heads straight into the Buffs locker room. He selects a player and straight away shoots up the question, “Did you you went to that Lil Wayne concert?”

To everyone’s surprise, the player replied, “I ain’t go to that… I seen the little post.” Here came Deion Jr. with the wry question, “Ain’t get kicked out the team?” “I’m still here,” the player confirmed. There were other players, too, who could not make it to the Lil Wayne concert, but they were very well part of the team. Amidst the allegation of Deion Sanders’ ”dictatorship” being the “final straw” for some players, Coach Prime dropped a cryptic message, with the CU Governor’s support.

Deion Sanders’ cryptic post stands out amidst drama

Since the end of the 2023 season, 42 players from Colorado have departed through the transfer portal. While transfers had already questioned Deion Sanders and Colorado Buffaloes’ culture of “playing for clicks,” the ”dictator” tag came as a tremendous blow for Coach Prime. The Buffs head coach let Father’s Day weekend pass by writing a cryptic post. Claiming how the haters now resort to lies, he wrote, “The painful TRUTH is far better than a comforting LIE. A LIE don’t care who tells it but The TRUTH is hard to tell because it’s not normal, it don’t carry the same weight or travel as far as a LIE does. The TRUTH will set u free & a LIE will keep u in bondage.”

The CU Governor, Camden Dempsey, was not far behind as he matched up with Sanders’ pace and took his stand questioning the authenticity of the sources. On June 15, he wrote, “Yeah all I can say is this is 100% false- we were never “forced” to go to this concert. We are a team that supports all of our players, but this is just crazy. Might want to find a better source.”

Till now, it was the coaches who were dismissing the allegations. Nevertheless, Deion Sanders Jr. sought to provide an authentic perspective on the franchise tag and the subsequent threat of being fired, as shared by the players themselves. Now let’s see what new story the haters come up with.
