It’s time for some role reversal in the Colorado Buffaloes roster! Head coach Deion Sanders has got lucky regarding his hobby of fishing. He received two fishing rods from Travis Hunter, and his happiness was no less than a kid who just got his favorite candy.
As far as fishing is concerned, Deion, too, is aware that there is no one better than Hunter and trusts him blindly with the fishing equipment. Not only gears, he called for Hunter’s help when the Ontario quarterback Daniel Mielke II threw him an open challenge.

The Buffs’ versatile player Hunter was being mentored by Coach Prime, and now he has decided to return the favor. Since the coach has recently taken up fishing as a hobby, Hunter wanted to make him feel special. In a video captured by Well Off Media, Hunter is seen walking through the cafeteria holding two fishing rods. When he presented the gift to Coach Prime, the coach kept thanking him, saying “Thank you, Sir.” Knowing that regular fishing rods often get tangled, Hunter gifted a more expensive version with the assurance, “Just in case you get them tangled.” This gesture not only shows their shared interest in fishing but also the strong bond and camaraderie they share, which resonates with the fans.
The stamp of approval that the rods are of premium quality came from Deion Sanders himself as he went on, “I ain’t going to have to tell it. I’m sure one thing but his stuff it ain’t cheap. None of his stuff is cheap.” Since Coach Prime’s fishing gear was back in Texas, he had been missing out on his favorite hobby. But here, Hunter turns out to be his genie. Is it just gifting or is Hunter preparing Deion Sanders for the enormous challenge lined up?

Sanders and Hunter have got their latest rival off the field
Up until now, Deion Sanders and Travis Hunter competed against each other to catch the largest fish. However, the time has come for the two-way phenom and the Buffs HC to compete as a team. Courtesy goes to Ontario quarterback Daniel Mielke II. On June 2, Mielke made a post on X about going on a fishing soiree. But what struck was the caption of the tweet as he threw an open challenge to Sanders and Hunter. The QB wrote, “Slayin trout today! @DeionSanders and @TravisHunterJr doesn’t have anything on us.”

The open call for a contest did not go unnoticed by Sanders as he replied under the tweet (which later got deleted), “Keep ya trying.” Being a newbie in fishing, it is unnatural for Coach Prime to be so confident about his new hobby. It must be his assurance that he can count on Hunter for both on-field antics and fishing competitions that propelled him to take up the challenge.
It was last December that Hunter might have earned Coach Prime’s trust when he shocked the coach by reeling in a whopping 10-pound bass. Now that Deion Sanders has got his new fishing gear, will the duo work as a team and head back to their favorite spots, Lake Prime and Lake Time, for some practice sessions?
