The Colorado Buffaloes are leaving the old behind in 2023 as they revive themselves this offseason with a fresh bout of recruits and training. But that isn’t going to be the only difference we see in the Buffs this season. They’re set to sport their new uniforms on Folsom Field, which Deion Sanders described as “phenomenal.”

This brings us to Coach Prime’s signature quote, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.” Even DE Arden Walker couldn’t hide his feel-good factor after taking a glimpse at it. It looks like even the new uniforms will play a big role in the Buffs’ confidence and performance this year. But when will it be shown to the public’s eyes? Could it possibly be when Julian Lewis comes to Colorado for his official visit?

Will CU Buffs’ new uniform release coincide with Julian Lewis’ visit?

During an interview with RK and Jake on DNVR Buffs, Colorado’s Director of Player Personnel Corey Phillips teased the release date of Colorado’s new uniform. When asked about the timeline, he maintained a suspenseful attitude as he said, “You never know what may show up on next weeks timeline.” Now this is interesting because Julian Lewis is also scheduled to come to Colorado for his last official visit on June 21.

Lewis’ visit on Friday interestingly coincides with Phillip’s hinted timeline. As SKOBUFFS dropped their speculation on X, “If JuJu Lewis posts a video in the new uniforms, it does over 1M views, guaranteed.” The Buffs fans already have shown high interest in the 5-star QB who could be Shedeur Sanders’ potential replacement as seen in their “WeWantJuJu” chant. If a picture of him surfaces in the Buffs uniform, it would generate a lot of attention and talk given his current status as one of the most-sought QB of the 2025 class.

Colorado faces stiff competition from USC and Auburn

Julian Lewis has already committed to USC since last August. But he made another official visit with the Trojans on June 7, a meeting which his father TC Carlson described as “phenomenal.” The Carrollton HS star also recently visited another program vying for his attention – Auburn.

Lewis is yet to visit Coach Prime and Colorado but there is no guarantee yet that he’ll commit to the Buffs. So, keeping things on the safe side, Deion Sanders and the Buffs recently offered 4-star QB Jalen O’Neal of the 2026 class on May 6 and hosted the Newport Harbor HS standout. If Julian Lewis commits to Colorado, it would be a game-changer for Deion Sanders when his key players leave for the NFL next season.
