With the NCAA football transfer portal now open with the official fall transfer period that was expected to commence from Dec. 4, 2023, and continue till Jan. 2, 2024, Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is poised to utilize it for bolstering the Buffaloes’ roster after a challenging 4-8 (1-8 Pac-12) season. 

In 2023, Coach Prime successfully recruited 53 transfers, including versatile player Travis Hunter and his son, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and the upcoming season looks even more promising with pivotal players joining the Prime Time force.

Former blue-chip recruit joins Sanders and Co.

Former five-star recruit Quency Wiggins, previously with LSU, has made a significant move by entering the NCAA transfer portal, with his destination being Colorado. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 6 inches and weighing 265 pounds, Wiggins, a redshirt freshman, contributed in 9 games during his time with the Tigers. Now, his journey takes him to Colorado, where he aims to make a substantial impact on the field.

LSU head coach Brian Kelly will be looking to the 2024 recruiting class and the transfer portal to find a player who can fill the void left by Wiggins. His departure opens up an opportunity for new talent to step up and contribute to the team. Wiggins, with limited appearances in less than 10 games for the Tigers over two seasons, is now looking to make an immediate impact with the Colorado Buffaloes. As Possessing the qualities for success in a Power Five program, the former blue-chip recruit has found a new home with Sanders and Co. However, he is not the only player that has generated hype with his transfer to the Buffs.

Colorado lands a key offensive player

Deion Sanders added a key offensive player as Will Sheppard announced his transfer to the Colorado Buffaloes. Sheppard, a wide receiver, is moving for his final season after a standout year at Vanderbilt. He led his team with 684 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Over his career, Sheppard has tallied 2,067 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns, ranking third in Vanderbilt’s history for receiving touchdowns.

With 152 catches in 43 games and 35 starts, Sheppard brings experience to the Buffaloes. His addition aims to enhance the offense, addressing the gap left by the departure of Xavier Weaver, who led the team in receptions and yards last season. The move is crucial for Sanders and the Buffaloes seeking improvement after a 4-8 finish.
