While it is a moment of loud and proud celebration for Colorado, it is a moment of dismay for some Nebraska fans. Adding another monumental achievement to their accolade shelf this season, the Colorado Buffaloes are setting up the stage for their historic reappearance on the NBC Network on September 7. The last time CU’s game found a slot on NBA was during the 1995 Fiesta Bowl, marking their season-opening clash against Nebraska the 8th game in CU history to be broadcasted nationally.

The Nebraska fandom was gearing up for the showdown with equally high spirits, purchasing the tickets for the historic clash against CU just when a judgment by District Court Judge Jodi Nelson screeched it to a break. The Cornhuskers fans came face to face with a harrowing cheating experience, which was unveiled on June 6.

Kenneth McCants, the man who was caught circulating fraud tickets of the Nebraska Game Day Experience, was ordered to pay $339,000 on Tuesday, $87,000 in restitution to the victims of the Nebraska Game Day Experience, and $252,000 in civil penalties and additional fees. Per Attorney General Mike Hilgers, McCants had defrauded consumers by “promising them the opportunity to watch a Husker football game with former Husker football players all from the comfort of a Memorial Stadium suite.” All the fans received were general admission tickets or nothing at all.

Speaking of tickets, Nebraska’s arch-rivals Colorado have already set records straight for selling out the season tickets, for the second consecutive time and the 10th time in program history, even before the season started. Just an example of how promising the next season of CU looks, especially when the season opener is an old-time rival of Colorado.

The classic old CU-Nebraska rivalry

Since 1898, Colorado and Nebraska have been battling it out to maintain their dominance over the other. Nebraska maintains a strong dominance over Colorado with its 49-21 lead despite the fact that Colorado has maintained a 3-winning streak over Nebraska.

With the revamped roster that Deion Sanders boasts, their season-opening clash this season also appears to be in a good position to win the clash against Nebraska. Deion Sanders is not taking the Nebraska boys too lightly. Analysts, on the other hand, are doing so. Uncle Neely from the Pregame Network believes that Nebraska is “on that TV because they’re playing in Colorado Buffalo whose head coach is Deion Sanders.”

So will Nebraska boys be able to win against Deion Sanders and its team, making for a fitting comeback for Uncle Neely’s belief, or will Deion Sanders successfully continue building his winning streak against Nebraska to 4? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
