It’s raining CU women’s basketball players in the NCAA transfer portal. First, it was sophomore Brianna McLeod and freshman Mikayla Johnson who put their name in the NCAA transfer portal on Tuesday. Shortly after them, another Buffs player put her name forward in the NCAA transfer portal. Freshman Jadyn Atchison, who played for 14 games in the season, has reportedly decided to enter the transfer portal.

Atchison announced through her Instagram on Friday, penning a heartfelt note showcasing her gratitude towards the Buffs team. Her teammate, Shelomi Sanders, instantly rushed to Instagram to show her unwavering support towards her former teammate as she commented, “Your Time” on her post.

The CU Buffs women’s basketball team had one of the largest freshman batches this season. However, Atchison’s decision to enter the transfer portal along with one freshman, Mikayla Johnson, and sophomore Brianna McLeod, among others have slashed that number significantly.

Along with Atchison, Lele Tanuvasa and forward Ruthie Loomis-Goltl also announced to enter the transfer portal. The Buffs are expected to face the aftermath of this next season since they lost a good chunk of talent from their roster. Regarding on-court talent, Atchison logged 51 minutes of playing time, scoring 19 points and pulling down 15 rebounds during her 14 games this season.

Despite her teammates entering the transfer portal, Shelomi Sanders only wishes the best for them, as she continues her encouraging comments rampage for all of them who enter the transfer portal.

When Mikayla Johnson announced her call to enter the transfer portal on Tuesday, Deion Sanders and his daughter Shelomi Sanders were among the first to rush to Johnson’s comment section and shower her with positive words, just like she did for Atchison.

“Your story,” Shelomi Sanders commented, while Deion Sanders also chipped in his encouraging words. “I’m proud of you and can’t wait to see you play,” Deion Sanders said.

With at least 11 of the 17 players on last season’s roster moving on, would these transfers mean a better opportunity for Shelomi Sanders? Deion Sanders’ daughter got to feature in only a few games and she scored just one, 3-pointer basket in the previous season. Sanders would be entering her sophomore year and the vacancies in the roster would surely mean more chances for her to be on-court.
