Home/NFL

No matter how much you hate Deion Sanders, you just cannot stand there and say that this guy didn’t have an impact. Coach has coached his sons Shilo and Shedeur Sanders to where they are now and also took the Buffs to a whole new level. From going 1-11 to 4-8 season, that is a solid 400% improvement, and that’s what Deion Sanders did. Now the Buffs are a 280 million program and Shedeur Sanders is the potential No.1 QB. However, you just cannot ignore another relationship that Coach Prime has fostered.

We got JaKiTruth sharing a short clip from the NFL about Coach Prime and NFL legend Devin Hester. “I was a big Deion Sanders fan,” is what Hester mentioned. Deion’s ability to trade games and just market himself is what caught Hester’s eye. And when Coach Prime noticed, he did not waste any time connecting with the Bears star. “I reached out to Ed Reed and said get me in touch with him,” Deion said. From that point on, the rest is history. Coach Prime was there when Hester got his name on the Hall of Fame. Deion helped him put on that gold jacket. Hester took to his Instagram story to share how he felt about the moment. “This moment wouldn’t be perfect without you dawg,” he wrote. Deion taught Devin the most important thing there is to sports. “time management and surrounding yourself with the right people,” Hester had noted. All of this comes hours after Knights HC Gus Malzahn sang some high praises for Coach Prime. “I’ve got a lot of respect for him and the way he does it,” Gus had mentioned. From what we have seen Deion get done at Colorado, it ain’t no wonder why people hold him highly.

Still, let’s not take away from the fact that Hester ain’t just any ordinary player. Yeah, the HoF title does set him aside, but did you know that Devin has been the only person to ever return the opening kick for a touchdown during the Super Bowl? That ain’t all, he also holds the record for the most return touchdowns in the NFL. It is no wonder why Deion sang his praises. “Devin Hester is the greatest kick returner of all time,” Coach Prime had said. Deion has always had an eye for talented people. A trait we can see reflected again from all the new champs Coach Prime has been eyeing for the Buffs roster.

It’s a fact that Shedeur, Shilo, and Travis Hunter will be leaving the buffs after the 2024 season is over. That would give Coach Prime a clean slate to work with. So, who has Deion got in his crosshairs? The first big name that comes to mind is JuJu. Julian “JuJu” Lewis has been on the radar of major camps like Auburn and Buffs. While he still is committed to the Trojans, times are changing.

Back on August 2nd, Philip Dukes explained how Lewis can most likely end up in the Buffs. “If I had to make a bet right now, I think Colorado has a lot of momentum,” Dukes said. Grabbing JuJu would mean having the perfect replacement for Shedeur. That kid is already rated as the most accurate passer by Elite11 and already has a 66.4% completion rate. Shedeur, back in 2023, had a 69.3% completion rate. The next kid who Deion wants on the team is Oklahoma’s Cortez Mills. A solid WR who would be the perfect replacement for Travis Hunter. Mills already has 18 touchdowns along with 1640 yards under his belt. While it still isn’t sure if Lewis or Mills will join Coach Prime’s gang. However, if they do, the class of 2025 is gonna rock.
