Deion Sanders, the Colorado Buffaloes coach, had tough luck against the Arizona team today. The 56-year-old NFL Hall of Famer has established himself as one of the most popular coaches in the NCAA since he signed a contract with the Buffs. Yet even with all his fame and following, there have certainly been some questions about some of his coaching methods, especially from Jason Whitlock.

It was recently brought to light that Coach Prime keeps track of the fights that occur amongst his players and talks about how it is a “great thing” to have fighting at practice. This method was heavily criticized by the fans, with some deeming it toxic and causing problems within the team. Whitlock had earlier said, “I get the intent of what he’s saying and why he’s saying it. But prolonged on-field fights can lead to after-practice fights. Deion sounds desperate for any sign of competitive fire.” Despite such strong words, Whitlock still praised him for the Buffaloes match against the Arizona Wildcats, in which the Buffaloes showed their competitive spirit.

After the match, Jason Whitlock took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, to compliment the coaching skills of Coach Prime. He talked about how he had outplayed the Arizona team’s coach and commended his intelligence during the game.

He said, “Regardless of what happens in the last 8 minutes, Deion has coached his best game today. He’s out-coached Arizona.” The Buffs may not have won the game, but it was definitely a very close match when the score stood still at 31-34.

With two more games left in the season, there’s still hope for the Buffs to make it to the playoffs.

Can the Colorado Buffaloes still make it to the playoffs?

The answer is yes, though their chances are extremely slim. The Colorado team will have to win both of their matches against Washington State Cougars and the Utah Utes in the coming few weeks. Their current record is 4-6, and they’ll need to make it 6-6 to make it to the playoffs. But with how the team has been playing so far, it would take a miracle for that to happen.

Coach Prime’s team is barely hanging by a thread. With the regular season almost coming to an end, the fans can’t help but feel dejected about the fact that their favorite coach in the NCAA will probably not be making it to the playoffs this season. But if there’s one thing that can be said about the tenacity of Deion Sanders, it is that it’s not completely over until he says it’s over. The Colorado team will have to muster up all their courage to try and win their next two games to make it to the playoffs.
