Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin’s 14-year-old son, Knox Kiffin, is already popular among recruiters despite not having played a big league high school game yet. Knox, who is a 2028 quarterback prospect, announced a few days ago on social media that he has scholarship offers from two FBS programs.

The quarterback’s impressive throws have grabbed eyeballs. At a recent camp in Dallas, he went for a perfect 50-yard pass that quickly went viral. This caught the attention of SMU Mustangs’ quarterback coach, D’Eriq King, who later offered Knox a scholarship.  Soon, Arkansas State followed suit, recognizing the young QB’s potential.

While Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels haven’t extended an offer to his son yet, the head coach is undoubtedly supportive. He’s been seen accompanying Knox to some of his showcase events. Kiffin even arranged for Knox to spend time with the team’s star quarterback, Jaxson Dart. A photo shared on his X handle showed Lane Kiffin with his son Knox, QB Dart, and a few other players enjoying a fun “family” dinner outing.

Dart, with a 66.4% completion rate and being a potential Top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, seems like a perfect mentor for Knox. Although we are unaware of the details of their conversation during their outing, fans are already envisioning Knox as a potential successor to Dart as Ole Miss’ leading quarterback in the future. Will this fan dream become a reality?

Will Ole Miss Rebels land Lane Kiffin’s quarterback son?

Knox Kiffin, who initially received an offer from Division 2 Mississippi College, was seen in a clip dropping the perfect dime that went viral and caught the eye of bigger conferences. However, amidst the hype, fans had one clear request: “Plz sign him Ole Miss.” Some even started calling him the future QB1 of Ole Miss and Jaxson Dart’s replacement. Even though this could be years in the future, Knox appears to be less enthusiastic about playing under his dad.

In an interview with Inside the Rebels, Knox revealed that he has “no interest in playing” for his dad Lane Kiffin, and would rather play against him on an opposing team. For now, Knox seems focused on his own development, adding, “I want to learn a lot going into this high school year and get some varsity reps in and just grow into my frame.”

He clearly knows it’s too early to make big statements and is keeping his options open for now. We’ll have to wait at least half a decade to see how things unfold for Knox and where he decides to play college football.
