New Orleans Saints rookie cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry is making the most of his NFL dream. Drafted 41st overall in a trade with Green Bay, he’s now set to sign a 4-year, $9.02 million contract with a $3.4 million signing bonus. Even though he dropped from a projected first-round pick to the second round, costing him about $1 million, McKinstry is grateful for the opportunity.

To celebrate, he surprised his mom, Geneva Allen, with a luxurious Mother’s Day gift. He first posted the surprise on Instagram, “First purchase. Congrats, Ma. U deserve it all,” alongside a picture of a Mercedes Benz. Soon, a video shared by Paparazzi Tripp revealed the full extent of McKinstry’s generosity — a brand new Mercedes Benz worth $183,000. The heartwarming footage captures McKinstry’s mom’s surprise and joy as she receives the keys to her new car.

While still playing college football for Alabama, Kool-Aid McKinstry was already making a lot of money from his name. He was estimated to be worth almost a million dollars, with a staggering  $613,000 roster value and $308,000 NIL value. Even before proving through stats, McKinstry got his first big deal with the “Kool-Aid” drink brand because of his unique name. He then made another big deal with the fast-food chain Bojangles, and his partnerships kept growing. By the time he finished college, McKinstry was one of the top college football players in terms of NIL deals.

Now that McKinstry plays in the NFL, he will likely have many more opportunities to make money from deals with companies. He already has a $9 million contract to pave the way for a luxurious lifestyle.  With all this money coming in, we can expect McKinstry to be able to buy many such expensive things in the future.
