When Texas Longhorns WR Xavier Worthy broke the NFL Combine 40-dash record at a speed of 4.21, he made memorable headlines. It not only improved his draft stock but it also gave Chiefdom a daydream idea in case he ended up with 3x SB champion Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL. Now that the unexpected scenario has happened, it’s not just the celebration of fans but also witnessed the dismay of the franchise’s rivals.

After the Chiefs selected Xavier Worthy with their draft-night trade-up, an AFC GM texted NFL insider Jordan Schultz saying, “F**K me.” The frustration is clear. The Chiefs are already the top NFL franchise with two back-to-back Super Bowls. And with a speed weapon coming in to complement Mahomes’ passes? They could be invincible! Xavier Worthy started all 14 games with the Texas Longhorns in 2023 where he recorded 75 receptions, 1,014 receiving yards, and five receiving TDs. But while he led the Longhorns to a CFP appearance, his hype wasn’t realized initially. However, his draft stock drastically improved after his remarkable performance at the NFL Combine. Now that this agility weapon joined one of the best NFL teams at Arrowhead Stadium, Chiefdom has something big to celebrate because Worthy is undoubtedly going to be a worthy addition to Kansas City.

As with the general opinion, Xavier Worthy is going to serve as an elite, big-play weapon for Patrick Mahomes. He may not have a strong build but his speed is an easy counter for that and given that the Chiefs offense primarily operates off after-the-catch production, Worthy is an extremely reliable fit. He poses a deep threat with 94 20+ yard targets in his collegiate career.

As of now, we don’t know if WR Rashee Rice will continue starting this season’s games amidst a potential suspension. But there are sure to be scenes where Worthy takes the field along with new player Marquise Brown to showcase their abilities at Arrowhead Stadium. Now that the Chiefs have some of the best offensive players like Travis Kelce, Rice, Brown, and Worthy to complement Mahomes, they might have just signed for another Super Bowl next year.
