After raising his concerns about Caleb Williams moving from a warm city to a cold city like Chicago, Deion Sanders is now trying to lay a good foundation for his star players in the NFL. He is making it clear in advance that Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter’s spot in the pro league is already established in his mind when they enter the 2025 NFL Draft. And he’s not gonna be satisfied with them landing in certain cities.
Deion Sanders’ concerns came after Caleb Williams was suggested an “Eli Manning”, i.e. saying no to the Chicago Bears to be selected as their first pick. While the future of the USC QB in the NFL remains unclear, Coach Prime certainly doesn’t want Shedeur Sanders and co. to find themselves in Williams’ shoes in 2025.

Coach Prime replied with surety that Shedeur Sanders would be No. 1 while his two-way star would be No. 4. Also adding Shilo Sanders to the conversation, he said, “I know where I want, kind of want them to go.” And if it’s not according to his plan, he’s not going to have a second thought on having them pull an “Eli.” Now, for those who aren’t clear, what is an Eli in the NFL Draft?

RGIII suggests Caleb Williams pull an Eli Manning with the Bears
The “Eli Manning” technique came into existence in 2004 when Eli Manning straight up let the San Diego Chargers know that he wasn’t interested in joining them. A few days back, former NFL QB Robert Griffin III posted his opinion on X saying that it would do Williams good if he pulled an Eli on the Bears and told them he doesn’t want to play for them. The reason?

Caleb Williams remains the favorite to land with the Bears. But after they failed to develop their former QB Justin Fields whom they traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2025 sixth-round pick which has nothing to do with him, he might want to consider whether the organization will be beneficial for him in the long run. It’s only understandable that RGIII is posing his opinions in the best interest of Williams.
