Michael Irvin, the Dallas Cowboys legend, gives a pep talk to increase the confidence of the Colorado team in their efforts to create a win. The 57-year-old NFL Hall of Famer has been one of the most influential athletes in the history of American sports. Though he works as a commentator now, it seems as if Coach Prime invited him to speak to the team as they struggle to secure a spot in the league.

The Colorado Buffaloes have had a rollercoaster of a season so far. They started off with a blast in the start when they won 3 consecutive games. Unfortunately, the joyride soon came to an end after a staggering upset at the hands of the Oregon Ducks by a score of 42-6. Since then, they witnessed a severe downfall as they struggled to portray a performance that could land them a win. With their current record of 4-4, Michael Irving was called as the last line of defense to motivate the team spirit of the Buffs.

On October 31, 2023, the team invited Michael Irvin on the field to give the players a pep talk and a reality check at the same time. He told the players about the vital role they played in creating history as football players. Irving told the players that football is a team game and no one can do it alone and additionally, gave the examples of all the top athletes in the world.

Irving said, “You better suck in and enjoy these moments. There’s no such thing as individual isolated success in football. You can see the basketball, LeBron takes off the ball one rim dunks on the other, he does it all by himself. You see it in baseball, and in golf, Tiger drops that putty does it all by himself, and in football, you don’t do anything all by yourself.” The pep talk will be of vital importance as the team hasn’t been playing as a unit which was visible in the match against the UCLA Bruins.

The lack of team unity in the match between the Buffaloes and the UCLA Bruins

The Colorado Buffaloes were upstaged by the Bruins when they couldn’t hold them from stealing a win from right under their noses. The match ended with a staggering score of 28-16, but that wasn’t the only issue that the Buffs faced that night. Shilo Sanders was ejected during the match for a controversial foul and since then, the entire team’s defense has fallen apart.

The Buffs’ defense failed to guard Shedeur Sanders, the QB for the Buffaloes, as he tried to throw out the passes across the field. The 21-year-old took an insane amount of 21 hits as the Bruins’ team tore through the defense. The fans couldn’t help but empathize with Shedeur as he looked to be hurt and in pain. Coach Prime will need to make serious changes to the team’s defense if they wish to remain in the race for the championship. Because with the way the Buffaloes are playing right now, it doesn’t seem like they will survive the rest of the season.
