Caleb Williams finished the 2023 season with 3,633 yards, 30 touchdowns, and five interceptions, which earned him the coveted potential first-overall pick in this year’s draft. While his talent on the field is exceptional, his decision to forgo throwing at the NFL Combine drew backlash from his critics, who questioned his competency.

Former NFL LB Emmanuel Acho is one of Caleb Williams’ critics who questioned his future success in the NFL. But Williams isn’t the only target for the 33-year-old sports analyst who takes savage digs at rising sports figures. He also brutally jabbed Angel Reese after their loss in the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

In his recent appearance on YouTube on SPEAK, he spoke his mind about Caleb Williams’ potential success in the NFL, but it’s not in a positive light. He said of Williams, who is projected as the No. 1 QB to land with the Chicago Bears, “I need more competency from Caleb. Caleb, you want ownership in your team because that’s how good you are? Caleb, you didn’t want to throw at the combine, you don’t want to throw at pro day because you’re that good? For me, I need more competency for Caleb.”

This backlash came amid his brutal dig at LSU Lady Tigers standout Angel Reese after the basketball star lost to Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Following the loss, Reese got emotional during her press conference speech, saying that she’s a victim of unwarranted character attacks, unwanted body sexualization, and death threats. But Acho isn’t having any of these. He took a direct shot, saying, “Angel Reese, you can’t be the big bad wolf and then kind of cry like Courage the Cowardly Dog. Nobody mourns when the villain catches an L, and, Angel Reese, you’re self-proclaimed to be the villain.” Both Angel Reese and Caleb Williams didn’t win the favor of Acho, but with the 2024 NFL Draft getting closer, a lot of talk is going on for the USC Trojans star QB.
